When Silksong comes out, there will be a small but vocal group of fans that completely deny its existence. I don’t know whether they’ll be dissatisfied with the game or just meming, whether they’ll pretend it’s still coming or never existed, but I do know that they will exist and I am here for that.
The Relyea video today about Silksong at SGF was the first time a Silksong speculation video actually got on my nerves. He spent so long psychoanalyzing a 15 second clip from someone saying Silksong wouldn’t be at SGF, by trying to determine whether he was LYING about it or giving any clues as to Silksong’s progress, that it made me angry. Not just the fact that it felt like he was desperately clinging to any possibility of news, but that the person probably doesn’t even have any insider information to begin with.

I see a new video by Primacon every other day in my youtube notifications and i've already considered blocking his sorry ass for bothering me with constant clickbait. By the time there's actual news i'm gonna miss it bc i'm not gonna believe his video titles
My story with HK is really interesting. I bought it 3 years ago, first ever metroidvania for my switch, and I hated it. I was so bad, I never could make it out of Forgotten Crossroads, so I put the game down. Then 2 years later, I reinstalled it and gave it a second try. I managed to get to THK but I could never beat him so I put the game down again. Then a couple months ago I got a steam deck and decided to try Hollow Knight again so I bought it on steam. And for some reason, it just clicked with me. I beat it normally finally, then got true ending, then got 112%, did every single other achievement, and just finally beat Pantheon 5. I finally got the platinum. Once I did, I went back to Dirtmouth and just sat on the bench for like 10 minutes, listening to the music. Absolutely amazing game and I'm glad I went back to give it another chance. So now I have joined the wait for Silksong. Hopefully I don't have to wait 5 years like everyone else has lmao.
Funnily enough, I have a similar story regarding HK as well. I started playing it in October of 2020 and spammed it hard for a week. For some reason I stopped playing it for a bit. The "bit" would turned out longer as I would resume playing it in winter of the next year. Funnily enough there wasn't a single moment where I didn't absolutely love the game, even the beginning. I think it's just the way I played, zero guides, looking up shit, relying on markers and trying to remember everything made it harder to come back after taking a break. And so I did, until 2023 where I got back it again for a bit and then dropped it AGAIN until literally a week ago. I was around 75% completion at that stage, most of that 75% was from 2020. Today I stand at 104% with PoP and DLCs left to tackle and can now, with certainity, say how HK is in my top 10 favorite games of all time, maybe even top 5. The funniest thing of all is how I've been hearing about people waiting for Silksong since I started playing. Maybe even heard of that in 2019 when I tried HK for the first time at a friend's place. Time flies! Oh and I am absolutely never gonna try Steel Soul and prolly every Pantheon, I have a life to live and other games to finish that I started playing a while back. Celeste, Dead Cells (hard mode onwards), DS1 and Crypt Of The Necrodancer to mention few. Cheers!
Oh god yeah, HK is definitely my favorite game right up there with Sonic Unleashed. Path of Pain was tough, but I managed to get through it in a couple hours. And Pantheon 5 took about 15 hours total of grinding. I kept choking on Abs Rad because an orb would spawn on top of me in the final phase. Shoutout to Carefree Melody for tanking the hit for me on my winning attempt.

Great video. I think Slikslop is what we get when we have no friends to talk to and no information to go off of. My wife doesn't care about silksong but I can get all hyped up and excited in a video. Over the last 3-4 months I made a lot of metroidvania review videos partly because there wouldn't be any SS news for a while. But now, we are in a time where we really could get some news. If we don't see anything soon then it will be time to go back to sleep until December.
