Biggest Achilles' heel of deathmatch is the fact that you continuously have to clear angles. Just because you have cleared A cubby on Ascent, that doesn't mean that noone has spawned right behind you during the split second you turned around. And it is not something that translates to an actual game. the problem is, that after playing TOO many rounds of deathmatch, you might develop a habit of checking angles over and over again, just because you never know, and that diverts your attention from the angles the enemy will actually peek you, netting you more deaths.
i just ignores when i died from angle i have checked, same in competitive too, you shouldn't gear your playstyle towards deathmatch (unless that's your end goal) even if your playing one rn
Deathmatch has way to many people for the size of maps. I find myself spawning 3 feet away from another player who immediately kills me. I feel like I would be able to sharpen my skills if I could actually take 2 steps from spawn.
I agree, spawning with someone aiming directly at me already doesn’t teach me anything. Not only that but the fact that it makes an ear piercing sound everytime you spawn, you’re already at a disadvantage if you’re peaking because they know where you are.
@@vedessa Exactly this. You have the level 100+ gods killing everyone already, let alone then and basically everyone else stat-padding by spawn killing.
best thing I learned from Death match is foot step sounds. Practice has those striding dummies but nothing beats hearing real people's dynamic movements.
honestly, i hear so much complaining about the radar in deathmatch and i really dont understand where its coming from. this mode is not only improving my potential teammates aim/prefiring/counter strafing, but also teaching them to LOOK AT THE FUCKIN MINIMAP every once in a while. map awareness and flick practice in one mode! im not sure why everyone considers this a failure
@@turbina7537 for real tho, ppl will complain about anything dude. i mean at first i was totally shocked and didnt like it at all, but as i thought more about it and continued to play with it, i realized it gives an obscenely small advantage while promoting tons of good habits. conclusion: werf it.
I focused too much on the minimap at first. I started covering it and was performing a lot better. It got rid of the habit so now I don't have to cover it anymore
@@Krinkles-Security for sure, even tho u may consider it a "bad" habit rn, it wont directly translate to unrated/ranked modes, as its not constantly feeding you useful information in those other modes, youll very quickly drop the habit of staring at it nonstop, but still check it enough to be useful to ur team
if you use sound in deathmatch you are bad and wont improve. there is no game sense in deathmatch so listening for sound queues to get your kills will only stagnate any form of progress you wish to make. 90% of people that queue deathmatch only listen to sound and minimap queues and make it extremely hard to have an actual deathmatch warmup for players who know how to improve and what to improve on. crosshair placement/aim. i'm immortal and i get shot in the back 90% of the time unless i start steam rolling everyone on a certain part of the map. but once i die 90% of the time im getting shot in the back or prefired. i only listen to music and play with no in game sound. i avg 6th place. when i use sound i get 1st/2nd every time
I know this is not much related to the video but i want to ask a tip from y'all Is toggle scopibg or hold scopibg better in operator ? or Whatever im comfortable with is better?
I'm glad that you commented on when to run, and when to walk. Another good strategy, to win, is to know when opponents firing will mask your foot steps, and to begin walking after the gunfire has stopped. Too often, I find myself not walking at all, in an attempt to get closer to the middle of maps... or closer to where there is a lot of action. I do tend to sometimes do better, when I hold a spot; but it then depends more on relying on hoping that enemies are spawned near my position.
No pro player uses deathmatch to improve. No player above Plat uses deathmatch to improve. No player should believe that the kind of deathmatch Valorant has in their game is for the sake of improvement. The practice range already gives you all the tools to improve the majority of things you gotta work on. Aim labs provide a far more in-depthed solution overall to improve everything. I've been in Immortal2-Radiant range for a while now, and same goes for CSGO being Faceit lvl 10 in Masters/FPL challenger. I would never suggest a newbeginner at FPS to enter this gamemode to for the sake of "Improvement". - You want to improve overall? There's a bunch of WAY more effective methods you can utilize to improve overall. The best one being: Just keep playing regular competitive. You should not define your skill based on your deathmatch performance, neither should you try to improve counter-strafing, map awareness there either. You won't grow any game sense out of it, and the amount of time it takes for you to develop anything through this horrendous deathmatch they've got right now, is so slow compared to other methods. Now that being said: Yes, you can go and have fun in deathmatch, tapping heads and whatnot. The point of the comment is not to degrade fun, but to give people a better insight as to what is the most beneficial way to improve, and usually all of them are right infront of your eyes. If practicing in deathmatch improved your overall gameplay; good. But there are ways where that improvement would've been significantly faster and more effective. Its the current state of the game, and we'll have to wait til it offers more for the sake of individual improvement besides competitive queues.
Deathmatch still helps because youre fighting real players in such a short, fast and efficient amount of time, and I prefer this over using an aim trainer as it gives me the actual Valorant experience
1:59 think about why I died, because theres too many players, dogshit spawns in the middle, third party and stupid ass uav LUL. This is probably the worst game mode to try and practice because 99% of the fights wont be in a real game situation. They need to have less players, and better spawns cause its so bad.
hello, thank you for this video/guide..it is really helping me on hitting more headshots and training my aim in general..but i have a question though...I usually train my aim in deathmatch for about 30-40 mnts daily..i try to be as much as focused as possible and sometimes i kinda feel mentally tired (not too much though)..anws, my question is, i usually train and wamrup in deathmatch before playing unrated or comp... should i rest after this mental training or should i directly play unrated/comp...ty for your time and efforts..
There's a big difference in PRACTICING and WARMING UP. It mainly lies in time spent, and how u spend it. Try to think of this all as a real sport. Like soccer; Warming up: This is when ur getting ready to play. You play maybe 10-15 min max of deathmatch. This is for warming up your fingers, your brain and your reflexes. After the 10 minutes, you can hop right into a game. Practicing: This is like going to soccer-practice. You use all your concentracion and focus on trying to become better. You train your aim and habits. This is when you go into deathmatch for an hour or more. After this you probably are very mentally exhausted. DON'T go into a game straight after this. You're too tired, you need to give your brain time to process the information and the practice. Ronaldo doesn't practice for 2 hours before playing a game against Barcelona, he warms up for 20 minutes :)
I'm not gonna lie as a new player DM is pretty shitty cause the maps are way too big and you spend half the time running around looking for people only to get shot in the back by someone who spawned behind you. The normal game is great but the DM need smaller maps.
He just told more people to pick up the Op in Deathmatch. God help us all. Lol. Do it with a Marshal and only aim for the head. When you start using the Op it will be much easier because you can aim for the body. People get in a bad habit in Deathmatch with the Op where they just run around also it's just BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG all match from like 3 or 4 people. I do 2 marshal matches and 2 sheriff matches then either or both ARs. Only time I Op is when there are too many people using it in one match then I just add to it cause why no. My threshold is 3 Op any higher and I just Op too lol.

something like a war where everybody just shoots and uses their abilities infinitely
Battle royale style....
pistol round only
Spike Rush
Knife battle
That one Raze that only uses Odin in death match:
