    I just found your video’s and you have helped me so much. I have been searching for a “teacher” to teach me how to get started. I have all these fantastic ideas, but my brain become’s paralyzed when it come to how to begin. Your video’s are going to be like a Netflix series to me where I will take a day off and seriously binge watch all of them in one day. So thank you, thank you, thank you. I wish we were like neighbors or something, because I would probably try to become your BFF to have someone in my life who isn’t afraid to admit that “All things Christmas” is in the top 3 of their favorite things. 😂

    Wow, what an awesome video! Your instructions are so detailed and easy to follow that it made me feel like I could really do this myself. Showcasing different areas of your home as a backdrop is really a nice touch, being outside on the courtyard, patio, and the room that lets us see your gorgeous Christmas Snow Village. It gave me a little insight and appreciation of just who Miriam is, a beautiful young woman living a blessed life. I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll have for us next. Awesome job!!

I saw it done on here by another UA-camr. God bless you all. Xx

      Good Morning Elaine! Thanks so much!!
      I know exactly what your are referring to. I have tried that in the past. I have made bases using both techniques.
      I think using the small hot knife tip makes the spaces between the stones a little large. It is a lot more work and more messy😄 but I think the blade makes it look a little more realistic.
      I will let everyone know about that as an option though, it’s a good point because some people might not want to take the time to carve out stones like that. 😂😂

    Question since I’m. New y to villaging…why do you do a black wash instead of straight black paint?

    • @MiriamsManner
      @MiriamsManner  10 місяців тому

      Hello Susan, that is a great question. Styrofoam is a porous material. If you only used black paint, you would go though so much just to get good coverage to cover all the white before you add your layers of paint. By adding water, the paint spreads nicer and also seeps into the pores of the styrofoam faster.

      @MiriamsManner  3 роки тому

      Hey Linda,
      I just looked up the freehand router and it is very similar to my hot wire foam factory sculpting tool. The reason I think the freehand router is better is because by the looks of it, the wire is thicker so you can pre-shape to make more things like stairs. I would defiantly purchase this item.
      The only thing with the hot wire foam factory brand is to make sure you unplug the base from the wall every 15-20 min. Even if you have the toggle switch in the “off” position, you still have to unplug it. I have burned out one of my cords by just turning the unit off and forgetting to unplug it. I had to buy a new one because it is my favorite tool to work with.

    What type of foam do you use. There are so many different ones. It kind of confusing to me.

      Good morning! 😄. For this project, I use insulation foam from Lowe’s. It comes in a 4’x8’x1.5” board and I just cut it to size. I attached the link for you below.

      @@MiriamsManner yes, i heard that, but your foam looks like it has little foam pellets. Thank you for responding to my question. Your work is beautiful.

      That’s what it looks like once you peel the paper off of both sides.
