    Thank you. Can you share with me how many yards you used total for the sequin blue fabric, and also how many yards for the solid blue? Each used?

      I used about 6-8 depending on if you’re extending the back of the train for the sequin fabric and a half yard for the solid blue

    Do you ever cut the back pieces as a whole? And if so do u notice a difference?

    • @godstitchd9924
      @godstitchd9924  Місяць тому

      Great question! I do cut the back as a whole sometimes if the design isn’t affected. Sometimes the material up top is different from the bottom. So in cases like that, you couldn’t. But if it’s all one material I’ll usually cut it as a whole, using the front as a pattern to guide the shape for the back.
      I noticed it’s easier when putting in a zipper because now you don’t have to line up a seam in the back where the waist line is. Either way the fit is pretty much the same. Hope this helps!

    Can you go more in detail about the circle skirt I see your front is different from you back why?

    • @godstitchd9924
      @godstitchd9924  Місяць тому +1

      The front is different from the back because i usually extend the back part for a more longer train. However this is completely optional. In some cases iv made the circle skirt's length even all the way around. It really depends on the look you're going for. I hope this helps.🙂

    How many yards of fabric did you use for the circle skirt?

      Do you use a overlock machine or just a zigzag stitch

      @@brooklynb3829 once I sew everything and fit it to my clients I usually go back and serge every up.

      Do you think that a dress like this would be good for someone with a bigger bust? I am trying to make one but I’m not sure there will be much support. Will boob tape work?

    • @godstitchd9924
      @godstitchd9924  26 днів тому

      @@MaryJay-mf7tg I’ve had this same experience before. Boob tape should work. I’ve had in some cases even went as far as adding bust cups in the dress for some support. Though it may or may not take away from the design, it’s best to keep your client in the loop of your thought process on what works best for for the dress. I hope this helps!

    I’m a new upcoming designer and I’m making my own prom dress and I had a question. The fabric that I’m using is a sheer mesh sequin fabric, but I didn’t want my skirt part to be fully see through so I bought a solid fabric. My question is, how would I be able to sew the mesh fabric to the solid fabric sort of like a lining? I hope this makes sense.

    • @godstitchd9924
      @godstitchd9924  Місяць тому

      The first thing you want to do is cut the sheer mesh sequin fabric and the solid fabric the same length. Then you want to top stitched the sheer mesh fabric on top of the solid fabric combining the 2 together. At this point you should be able to treat the two materials as one, now that they're layered it'll be easier to work with.
      I hope this helps!
