I have a Khyber 1999 model from the last 20 years and I must tell you that this car has wonderful brakes. The car does not skid. There must be some issue with his car only. If I had to tell its drawback then it is the ORVMs. They have so much blind spot area. Other than that, this car is perfect.

Instead of going for khyber go for Suzuki Margalla as it is in same budget as khyber but it's engine is 1300cc and it's a complete sedan car with good comfort level

Great review. The sound comes from gear in the cold morning is due to thick gear oil. Change the gear oil to 75w-90 oil of any trusted company, your problem will be solved. But be sure that all the seals are in very good condition, otherwise not recommeded. Sunil bhai gives you better idea about that as well.

I have Suzuki Khyber 1995 model registered in Karachi and that car is also Swift in registration, moreover! market of Suzuki khyber is not that much, we find khyber 200K to 400K depending on model and registration, I have recently repaired its engine and it gives me 12 to 13 Km without AC, I have changed its 2nd gear once because of some issue in it, There is a big issue in this car is of its maneuvering, on ZIg zag roads in AJK it often slips if you are driving alone, Road grip is not attractive but overall it is far better than mehran, santro and cuore but not better than cultus as per my personal view.

assalamoalaikum. i am dr farooq. i also own this car. i totally agree with the comments. and as far as fuel average is concerned i will add something really good for suzuki khyber. my suzuki khyber is giving me an average of up to 19km/lit which is really amazing for me as well. but all depends upon how you use the RPM of your car. this car is since a low profile, it gives this car very good road grip and its very stable on road. being low profile, this car gets hit by a bit higher speed bumps when 4 persons are sitting in it. but overall i have a very good impression for this car and i found this very strong and rigid car if compared to other competitors within this price range.
We also have a suzuki khyber 1994 model with a modified engine of vits (2012) vvt.i 1000cc engine and 5 speed toyota transmission with a fabulous milage of 18km in city and 21+km milage on long route.....khyber lovers😍

I also had this car. It was very fast and stable, stable because it was a wider car. I did 165km/hr on it, and it was stable at that speed. I also loved doing donuts in it because it was always under control. Also, I would slide it sideways, and it would hold those slides beautifully.

I kept this car for 7 years in late 90s- early 2000's, A worth mentioning plus point of Khyber used to be its incredible performance in hilly terrain . It used to beat even 1300 cc cars in uphill driving. The comment about gearbox is not correct infact it was khybers strong point. With its carburetor engine, excellent weight to power ratio, cheap robust parts. longer wheel base, beautiful shape and first of compact hatch backs in Pakistan it was infact " a legendary car of its era" as rightly pointed out by Suneel.

using kyber for last 5 years and and used Fx for 6 years even used mehran for 1 year. I think suzuki mein excel inner outer mein bht jaldi masla nikal ata hai bht jaldi ( goday bol jatay hein)I heard that cultus has the same issue. this is the reason I am now not purchasing a 2005 baleno and going for a down model honda.
i have a khyber in a nice condition, change its tyres to its genuine tyre size because of geometry of the suspension. its handling and brakes will improve.
