T1 towers are trash and never deal any damage, so even turret hugging won't save you. Grouping is the only saving grace!
Actually putting down the nova decoy in lane leads to friendly minions being always at full health when they reach buildings. And if you go for the lower cd and mana cost of decoy you can have it up almost all of the time for a tiniy bit of mana - so it's both pretty effective and efficient
The level 20 orbital on nova legitimately has such a short cool down that using it off cooldown to global push waves is actually really reasonable. Not sure what the pre-20 behavior was, though.
Yeah, I've been trying Nova lately and that's something I started doing when I noticed how short the cd is. It's not _ideal_ to use it that way pre-20, but the cd is short enough that it's usually not a terrible play if you really need to clear a pushed lane while something else is happening.
Pre 20 it seemed like she was using her cloned to tank minion waves so that she could amass an army. Truly trying to ressurect the specialist days of old. And honestly it seemed like it was working to a degree. Thing is though, to pull that off effectively you would have to use a ton of game sense to know when to be a part of the team and when to push. So it isn’t an easy task. Overall though I would maybe have prefision strike sometimes clesr a wave or two if it helps you get a keep down and you don’t need it for the fight. You would have to play it almost like zagara nydus where you split and help with teamfights simultaneously.

I was so excited because I had wanted a Firebat in HoTs since it came out as they were one of my favorite units from Starcraft. Great character. Super happy with how he came out

Pally does Viewer Games for consistency in his teammates. Random QM gives you funny stuff sometimes like Split Push Nova and 1v5 Illidan but that isn't always great to have happen.
I used to do a split push thing with Nova. It was a lot of fun. It feels like low rank thing to do but, I sort of still feel like it has its merits. Granted that was a long time ago. Okay, so even if it is a typically bad strat, here is how it worked for me. I get Holo Stability, so I can just drop the decoy in the lane from a distance. Then later you get the improved Lethal Decoy, that is kind of free damage without putting yourself in danger. The idea is to harass the enemy team and less of a true split pusher. The Decoy's job is to be somewhere impactful as often as possible. Cutting off reinforcements and retreats as well as just be some where in a lane to put a nova maker down for them to notice. The decoy does damage not great but, I can also stall minions and give a tiny edge all game. I tend to focus on being on my teams periphery never too far away to help with objectives and the occasional objectiveless scuffle. Late game the pushing is a bit more of an active task. The lethal decoy and at 20 precision strike are both used to keep enemy minions from being effective. I wouldn't use precision strike to just nuke minions though, way better to hit mercs. Hero>Mercs>minions>summons. Hitting minion the second they spawn is funny though but just keep the pushes going. That's my take anyway.
Blaze is one of my favorite tanks, by far. I recently played him again after a long break from HotS and I feel so powerful in most matches. Incredibly beefy, able to get himself in or out of danger at will, and has decent lane clear. I've been able to bully dedicated lane pushers out of lane and can beat most bruises that don't have built-in percent damage a lot of the time. His camp clear isn't super fast, but he can do it with minimal damage taken. I used to only take Combustion until recently, and the bunker has really saved my hide a few times - and some teammates when they remember they can use it.
Okay, so as a long time blaze player i gotta say i dont really get the atm meta build for him, i mean If you go Lvl 1 D quest. Lvl 4 D. Lvl 7 Q or W dep if the enemy has spell power or attack power. Lvl 10, again dep what the enemy has. Lvl 13 W quest. Lvl 16 D. and Lvl 20 again, dep on the enemy team, then you have crazy sustain AND pve dmg w the extra burning time on oil ! You can literally just solo take a boss or any camp and shut down any kind of dmg + the extra dmg that you do w the oil + fire is nuts AND the cd on D ( that has unstobable when quest is done ) is so small ! This build just seems to lose a lots from, while giving a little something in really spesific situations
unironically i have a variation of this build for maximum lane dmg while still being capable in teamfights, and the main goal is to max soak. BUT I only pivot to this build when my team's soak won't do their job so I basically make up for almost all the lost exp we might have incurred. i pick armor piercing rounds for the fights, but basically the build relies on increased snipe stacks, snipe aoe, and precision strike. you max out your snipe stacks and one snipe to the middle of a wave can finish it off pretty quick. then precision strike for the ghetto ass, discount lava wave. it totally works in qm, and can only recommend it in ranked below gold, because low ranks cannot understand the importance of exp from lane soak. gg that was a fun video. also goddamn, classic qm illidan istg

she had like 1k less damage than the highest on the team, as much siege as the highest, staggered enemy deaths, and out xp'd everyone by a mile. people need to appreciate other playstyles than "follow tank, shoot what tank shoot"

I'm all for different strats, but if you want to be global splitpusher, nova aint the play. I like to play nova as an assassin with a global wave pusher, akin to rag, not a splitpusher with global team fight move, like illidan (because her 'teamfight move' is pretty mediocre unless the person hit by it is already about to die)

Strategies are not just randomly activated like a trap card but use a efficient way to archieve a specific goal. The whole idea of Nova is very good, don't get me wrong, but she is not even using a spoon but feathers to cut steel. Nova has very weak push power and more single target power. This is the whole point. Using the strat self is perfectly fine but then use a hero like Brightwing, Abathur, Dehaka or similar heroes who can push lanes fast AND have the actual global presence.

What seemed like a losing game with having "two trolling characters" was actually a very contested game that yall literally won by "surprise" by pushing and pushing and somehow noone noticed, but all the enemy buildings were dead!

Actually nova did fine, I saw more of a problem the 1v5 illidan, but that is rooted in Illidans brain, nothing a player can do about it, it has life of its own.

Nova siege damage only appeared high, because her team was constantly forced to fight defensively(since Nova was not around). 2 players on the opposing team had dealt more siege damage by then. If it had been a true split pushing hero, the numbers would have been much higher. Just goes to show that just because you CAN does not mean that you SHOULD.
The decoy draws fire from the friendly minion wave. the enemy minions will prioritize it if it is closer. it essentially tanks damage from the friendly minions, so it is not pointless as you seem to believe it is. ALSO: after she gets explosive shot or whatever its called at 16 she can really start smashing through minion waves. I have taken that and the orbital R to surpass heros like zag, murky, and azmo on exp farming I want you to realize that this is actually one of the better builds and ways to play her. Which is sad. She feels like a way too late blooming lane pusher when she is supposed to be an assassin. Its ridiculous.
Especially in last year, not just QM .. it's such sh*t show, i can't even describe it. Haven't seen players that know how to play game for month, seen some in opposite team sadly. Just some random poorly programmed bots everywhere :)
Split push Nova is great but she should be with the team using precision strike to keep far up lanes pressured. Then enemy teams has to split to defend or risk winions. I have won a lot of games as split push Nova thanks to Pally teaching a lot of the meta over the years.
Nova completely absent from the MVP Lineup was pretty priceless, considering.

Actually nova did fine, I saw more of a problem the 1v5 illidan, but that is rooted in Illidans brain, nothing a player can do about it, it has life of its own.

Lol at 9:00 pally ya your damage is looking real competitive with your damage dealers right now. But you see your nova doing the most siege!?!? Split push nova thought I never see the day
Nova siege damage only appeared high, because her team was constantly forced to fight defensively(since Nova was not around). 2 players on the opposing team had dealt more siege damage by then.
If it had been a true split pushing hero, the numbers would have been much higher.
Just goes to show that just because you CAN does not mean that you SHOULD.

As a nova player, who really loves killing enemies in mass, this stream hurt, a lot. Someone needs to give that nova player a Gibbs slap.

The decoy draws fire from the friendly minion wave. the enemy minions will prioritize it if it is closer. it essentially tanks damage from the friendly minions, so it is not pointless as you seem to believe it is. ALSO: after she gets explosive shot or whatever its called at 16 she can really start smashing through minion waves. I have taken that and the orbital R to surpass heros like zag, murky, and azmo on exp farming
I want you to realize that this is actually one of the better builds and ways to play her. Which is sad. She feels like a way too late blooming lane pusher when she is supposed to be an assassin. Its ridiculous.
The friendly Illidan went full brain-dead mongoloid that game, especially at the beginning. Imagine winning a 3v5 when you shouldn't

Especially in last year, not just QM .. it's such sh*t show, i can't even describe it. Haven't seen players that know how to play game for month, seen some in opposite team sadly. Just some random poorly programmed bots everywhere :)
Dont even play this game anymore but yeah that nova triggered me. Lvl 20 global is allright for laneclear but before that its just not the way to go

Split push Nova is great but she should be with the team using precision strike to keep far up lanes pressured. Then enemy teams has to split to defend or risk winions. I have won a lot of games as split push Nova thanks to Pally teaching a lot of the meta over the years.
After all, it's called Quickmatch not Goodmatch ;-)
