Beautiful! A glorious sound! You can hear the rich and vibrant history of York Minster in every triumphant peal of those magnificent bells.
Thank you for your kind comments.
York Minster made us most welcome. We did ring some rounds on the 12 and rung some call-changes on the back 10. However, due to the weight, we decided to only rise and lower in peal the middle 8 (Tenor 24-3-0cwt in Eb) which sound absolutely gorgeous. It was a great privilege to be able to ring there.
I had the pleasure of ringing on both this 8 and the 12 last week. The 8 are fantastic, the 12 magnificent. Lovely video :-)
I remember the first time i ever rang here, was in 1986 on a Tuesday evening and i was allowed a few minutes of rounds on the front 5, with DP carefully watching on.
These 8 sound great! Exactly like Strattons 8!
It’s crazy when you are ringing York minster bells when the tenor is being used how different the bells sound.
They sound lovely, it's a shame what's happening to them and their ringers atm ._.
All the old trips
Did your band choose not to ring the back bells, or were you not allowed to? From this and your other videos, i'm sure you would have rung the back bells here to your usual high standards!
I rang on 12
