Video was great and very helpful. But you left out the attachment of two additional pieces that hold on either side of the latch button/handle. There's a small plastic clip and an additional post. I figured it out pretty easily, but was a little confused for a moment. Fortunately, the mounting positions for those on the old handle was partly what was broken, so I didn't need to figure out how to remove those after doing everything you said then having it not come off of the liftgate. That would have been especially confusing. The third post is also very difficult to access unless you have a very deep socket for the nut (same size as the other post nuts, FYI).
Thank you for the video, now I can replace it myself. But is the TRQ liftgate handle as fragile as the original? Because I noticed that the mechanic lifted the hatch by holding the rear windshield wiper. That doesn't bode well for the longevity of this TRQ replacement part, nor the rear wiper. This handle is the only thing that gives me problems on my 2005. In the 18 1/2 years I've owned it, I've had it REPLACED THREE TIMES, and the last handle is on its last legs, it should've been replaced three years ago. I need something sturdier!
It's easier if you remove the license plate light lenses before disconnecting the wiring harnesses for the bulbs. That's how they're designed to be removed for bulb-replacement.
