Nice find Dalton!- I'm Canadian- we know sleds, these little guys used to rip through snow where the bigger boys couldn't- other then the seat, this is in amazing condition! If you replace all bolts and screws with stainless, it'll last forever! Grats!
Yes sir I love those sleds and have a few of them and they are rippers I have enticers and exciters and Yamaha sleds are the king in my book super reliable and super lite and fast
Another reason I love watching your videos is. When I was younger I worked for my friend who was more like family. His shop was just like yours. Made of tin. When it got that shop was colder than a meat locker. He passed away a few years ago and every time I watch your videos I think of him. He was funny just like you. He heated that place with a wood burning stove. Every once in a while he would throw a piece of inner tube in it and it would make that stove turn bright red from the heat. I’d just shake my head.
I started watching this channel after you and kevin worked on the black squarebody and now it's one of my favorite channels. It doesn't snow much where I live (NC) but I always wanted to ride a snowmobile.
PBG: "I can probably just hold it" OSHA has entered the chat... LOL Seriously though, for $500 this was a killer find. With how well it runs you just know someone really loved and enjoyed that thing and babied it (at least mechanically anyway) what a killer deal and I would be amazed if you couldn't flip this for double what you paid for it after all is said and done.
I think there is some influence from the Red Green upholstery shop somewhere in there. Brilliant use of "the handyman's secret weapon". I think the only thing you have to worry about is Kevin finding out about the Wankel Engine snobbery club.
Oh man! When I was a kid, the neighbors had a couple old ski doo's. We would get a long rope and tie up one of those metal sledding disc's behind them and take turns getting pulled behind the snowmobile in a big field. This usually resulted in bruises, goose eggs on our heads, snow packed inside our coats, hypothermia and hours of fun! This brings back memories!
I think that is a great starter sled, try not to do too much 'dry' riding, the track sliders need the snow for lubrication. Have a great time with Kevin and Mook Riding next month!!
I bought a Polaris Indy Sport 340 recently! I was skeptical, back in 1985, was riding to school on one,,was hit crossing highway by pickup truck, turns out to be two of my stoned classmates! Smh. So, I'm back at it, and real safe)😁😨😨😨 have fun, be safe dude!!! THANKS FOR SHARING.😎
I'm glad to see that you made JD wear a helmet, a lot of dad's wouldn't have done that thinking it's only a mini bike how dangerous could it be . I know from back when I was JDS age wreaking one and luckily I just tore up my toes when I ran into a chain link fence. I didn't wear shoes much back then. I cant wait to see the videos from the trip.
My first sled was a 79 enticer 300 in white. Awesome little sprint sled, didn’t like deeper snow though. But this is how the addiction starts. I currently don’t have a sled, not much use for one in Arkansas, but have a half dozen atv’s, a side by side and bikes. Thinking about getting a few sleds again to take to Colorado. You’ll want an 8,10,12mm wrench, flat and Phillips, pliers and plug wrench. Always make sure your spare belt is good and carry extra fuel pump, some fuel line, clamps and emergency pull rope.
Dude this was my first sled we used and abused it for years and was indestructible fun af 😂enjoy don’t worry about the smoke it’s supposed to that just means the oil is mixing with the gas
Yer gonna have a good time in Sconny. :) I grew up in central MN, and we got lots of snow, ground covered from late November until mid March, lakes frozen over a foot or two. At 13 you could get your snowmobile saftey cirtificate (taught after school!) and it was like a ticket to freedom! Now I had 50 and 100 dollar beaters but they are what I cut my wrenching teeth on, and with the saftey cirtificate you could ride the road right of ways (ditches) etc and I rode to school and to visit my friends. Spent lots of time two up on a '79 340 twin Enticer! I met Kevin in MN last weekend and saw the mighty rotary Panther in action. :)
That's a really nice sled! Those Yamahas were well built in those days. I had a 72' Yamaha GP433 and an 83'? Enticer, both great runners. Brought back some memories hearing that two stroke, twin cylinder rattle! Great videos my friend!

I've just about gotten caught up on your videos. 2 things come to my attention, please don't EVER stop including J.D. in everything you can seems to me like your doing great Dad stuff with him neither of you will ever forget it and one little piece of advice, never ever get rid of that GTO, out of all the cars I've had in 48 years of driving the ONLY one I miss is my Goat.👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Superglue does not like to flex as I found out at a recent wedding I went to when I tried to glue the sole of my shoe back on. But I guess you know that now. You take such care with your workmanship. An example for us all! Thank you.
Yamaha 2-strokes were some of the best ever made. I’ve ran Amsoil synthetic in my Yammer Hammer outboard for years with good results. Very little smoke and no fouled plugs.
I didn't know I suddenly needed 2 vids from my fav rustbucket engineers about snowmobiles in 1 day.. You sure ripped right through that powder rightously.. :')
That’s a great little sled. It cleaned up very well and seems like it has plenty of power. Honestly I think the biggest performance upgrade was the wind suit and goggles. Just don’t forget the cowboy boots!
There's something so wholesome, down-to-earth and downright entertaining about these Midwestern car communities and their UA-cam channels, plus you learn along the way too!
Nice job on the sled! Can’t wait to see how it goes on snow. I’ve been riding them since I was about eight years old, they are a lot of fun! Makes the snowy winters up here in New England a little more tolerable!
Old girl started right up Always wanted to ride a snow Mobile but were I live in arizona don't get snow any longer then it melts 10 feet before the ground cool video @Pole Barn Garage
Thanks again for your time mate, snowmobile on the rocks, great idea. Can't wait for the next video with what's his name from junkyard digs, I reckon the two of you are going to have loads of fun. Hopefully there's snow! See you next time, maybe the eagle, that's always entertaining.
That thing was going pretty well on mud, wait until you get it on snow. I'd say if you care, check the bottom of the skis, if they're all rough and rusty it will slow the thing down. Just surface rust will wear off quickly when you start to drive it. Also, the skis need skegs, or steel bars that run the center length of the ski, they help with steering and will serve as a sacrificial wear surface to protect the skis when you run across the road, (or just go mudding on it). They're cheap, but you'll want some if the ones on it are gone.
Not only does the oil tank mix the oil with the gas but it’s also injected into the crankshaft and rod bearings. Not sure how the berrymans will do in the oil but none the less pretty cool machine and runs really good. I have multiple machines and love riding. It’s my 4th year now. Have fun dalton

Good buy! Shoot, I didn't know you were coming up this way or I would have met you there for a rip! Gonna be gone out of the country during that party in Wisconsin! Have fun Dalton Enticer! Send it!
Another Kanuckistanian here. I really enjoyed watching you experience riding a sled for the first time. Just wait until you get to try riding around in deeper snow, your really going to have some fun! I love those old Yamies. Glad you had fun on the ole girl!

Awesome! Thank you!

Same here! Love the videos, and you’re funny as hell!
Me 4* lol😂
I like the snow suit.
JD: "It literally looks like you threw it in the trash".
I grew up riding a 1980 Enticer 340. Same sled pretty much. Lots of fun and tough to kill! Japan built these babies tough!
Riding the legend - Yamaha Enticer! Everyone who rides today has a good story about mercilessly beating those things and they keep in tickin'.
