- This is how to change the spark plugs in a kia rio 2012-2017. Changing the spark plugs is easy. Just remove the engine cover, use a 10mm socket wrench to disconnect the battery and the ignition coils, then using a 5/8 spark plug socket, remove the old spark plugs and install the new spark plugs. Make sure to torque the new spark plugs to 15lbs. then re-install the ignition coils, connect the battery, and put the engine cover back on.
Thanks! This looks super easy and doable. I just wish I knew how you know which way that tiny hook at the bottom of the plug goes but maybe once it's inside I can try moving it around to see if it catches just right. I'm doing this tomorrow. Praying it goes smoothly!
I could not manage to find the correct gap in the cars manual but from rockauto and other sources they all mention using a 1mm (0.040 inch) gap which is what i will be installing.
thanks for the video though, i didn't figure it would be to hard to do but it's nice to see it done.
Bosch Iridium plugs are already set to that. Do not buy NGK since they have to be re-gapped and there are so many fake NGK plugs being sold.
Thank u it looks easy

How do you remove that clip to give access to the fourth plug? Mine won't come off easy like you showed. I've done three and now am completely stuck. Cannot get to the fourth one. I do not want to break that connector!
