  • I wanted to build up some inventory for an upcoming craft show. Luckily I've got some walnut that's been sitting around drying for some time now, and it was just itching to become something useful. I was able to get 3 pretty good looking chunks from it to make serving trays. I picked up some rubber feet for the bottoms, and an assortment of drawer pulls that make excellent handles for things like this. Now I take them to the craft show and sell them for $50 a pop.

Well done Justin. The gold epoxy was really cool on the walnut.

Thanks Rory! The gold was nice, but I prefer the white. Though I like the look of that knot better than the plain ol' filled hole of gold.

Nice job! It was fun watching you turn that raw wood into some really great looking pieces.

I like how you mixed different epoxy colors and different handles. Maybe captured a few different buyers that have slightly different taste. Good job!

Thanks, Dean! That was exactly the plan, go for variety to appeal to different tastes.
