Great one Kyle! Takes me back to the great prog days of old. The Sub37 at 3:50 has that Moogy goodness. I have a patch like that on my 37 but cannot replicate your chops on this one. So true to the original it brings up fond memories. That first ELP album was a revelation at the time. Keith's love of Mussorsgky, Bach and Bartok came through as something new to me but I was always a Mussorgsky fanboy. Later their work on Pictures took prog to a new level for me. I have a Deepmind 12d as well, a really nice DCO analog synth, great value. I love the way this builds from piano to synth pads and then the denouement Moog lead. Thoughtful cover. Excellent!
@@Sam_Utah I double tracked the Moog solo! I used my Little Phatty synth with a similar square wavish sound. It’s real hard to get that wall of sound that Emerson got from his Moog modular. I bet he had 55 oscillators in that rack.!🤣
@@KyleWhitlock-Music I had a Little phatty some years ago sold it for a Pro 2 then went to the Minikorg 700fs and sub 37. Great idea with the double track. Sounds Beefy. Yeah Keith had a monster.
@@Sam_Utah I really love the Deepmind 12. It is absolutely the most mysterious sounding piece of gear I’ve ever owned! I’m constantly amazed at the vast range of sounds it’s capable of
Beautifully realized and executed Kyle! Of course, like I would imagine everyone else, I was waiting for the big minimoog solo at the end. And you did not disappoint. Sounded fantastic all the way through. Thanks for kicking off the weekend in grand style!
Much obliged Rick! Thank you as always for the kind words. This was a long time coming. Took me a while to wrap my fingers around Emos solo! Not having the classical training makes it harder for sure. I still do not know what caused my computer crash a few weeks back. I’ve been monitoring it since and hoping it doesn’t happen again. It is time for a new computer, however. A more current one would certainly speed up video production. Cheers and have a great weekend!
@@KyleWhitlock-Music Yeah, I hear you on the computer stuff. I record music with a Mac but I do my video editing on a PC. The PC is nearing its likely lifespan so I need to start planning for a new one. I also know what you mean about the fingering for the solo. Because I spend a lot of time now on soundscapes, my piano playing is getting rusty and I really need to devote time to keeping it somewhat in shape.
Very good!!
3:40 Moog Sounds Awesome
I hope you will play more of Emerson Lake @ Palmer
I only wish I could!
just needed Greg in there with the vocals, excellent.
@@paulbarnes5051 right I know!

Thanks for listening!
Beautiful song, beautifully played, well done!
Thanks really appreciate it!
