Always great videos, easy to understand. Thanks for your help with my bike!
Glad to help!
Thanks for making this video. I used it for the light kit and the saddle bags. I had the sissy bar already but now have the entire package. Thank you
Awesome!!!
What is the length for the hardware if you have are mounting the bags and seat rest? I have received the kit without the longer bolts.
Did the install today and the video really helped. For future installers, be careful when putting the fender bolts back in. One got stripped going back in (my fault). It should screw back in easily by hand.
Johnny Pringle Glad the video could help out!
I almost stripped one too! (also my fault). maybe , don't take them all out at one time. I was kicking myself in the rear with both feet for being such a dipstick. Luckily, it re-threaded itself. I may never be able to take it back out, but at least it went in. WHEW!
Wet the gromits. Diluted dish soap is best. But anything works.
Other than that, Flawless video. Great job! (I learned I have my bag brackets INSIDE my backrest! lol No bags on yet so, they fit. Will have to move them. Thanks!)
Hi Chris, yea a little lubrication on those rubber grommet does help. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Those metal shoulder washers, I bought Viking saddlebags for the Bolt and the brackets that came have a 10mm hole in the shoulder washer that goes through the grommet in the bag and a 6mm bolt which leaves 2mm of space all the way around. The bolts are too short anyway so I emailed Viking about this and awaiting a reply. The two shoulder washers that were used on the rear fender fit perfectly inside the 10mm hole and have a 6mm hole but I only have 2 and need 8. So I'm having to make my own customization to get my Viking Bags on my bike. So I took micrometer readings of the size I need and emailing fastener companies for shoulder washers that will work.
Interesting. Let us know how it goes.
Great video, I was wondering is it possible to get brackets and saddle bags for a 2002 Yamaha XV535 Virago?
What's the length of the bolts for the sissy bar? I have a set of M8 x 60mm.
Sorry not sure. We do not have access to this setup any more.
I used 80mm. I had to custom order them as Viking Bags did not supply them. They also had the incorrect length bolts with the mounting brackets for the bags and a 10mm shoulder washer with a 6mm bolt which leaves a ton of play in there. So I'm looking for smaller shoulder washers to fit inside the bigger ones and longer bolts to take up all that free space. I have pictures but cannot post them here.
You DO NOT need the fender eliminator kit to install this bags, I didn’t like the unfinished look that you get with the fender eliminator kit so I used M8x120mm bolts and spacers to clear the turn signals. It looks and works great.
Ok. Thank you for the insight.
Just wondering if passenger pegs would be compatible with a bolt r-spec with Vance and hines comp series single pipe? Seems the pipe might be a little too tall? Thanks in advance for the response
HI Justin, you shouldn't have an issue running the V&H Comp Series with passenger pegs. We installed that pipe on this same bike a few videos later. Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/Fb_EZbpfzX8/v-deo.html
hello, you had to lengthen the turn signal cables to reposition them
Hello Antonio, you need to install the Fender Eliminator kit from Yamaha. That kit relocates the turn signals to the rear of the fender and out of the way of the saddlebags. Here is a link to the product on our website: www.chapmoto.com/yamaha-fender-eliminator-kit.html
This saddlebags is small??
Yeah it's a bit on the smaller side. But then the Bolt isn't a very big bike either so proportionately/aesthetically it fits with the bike.
