In this video, I will show you how to install Ubuntu in VirtualBox, on a Windows 10 PC. To install the operating system you will require VirtualBox installed with the Extension Pack, as well as the Ubuntu ISO. Both are linked below. This is the full installation of the OS including the Guest Additions package.

Would you please help with below error ? It occurs when I try to install guest additions

FYI - Others commented that they did not have buttons to select during the install. My buttons were cut off at the bottom of the window but I was still able to select them.

for anyone wondering why they didnt get a prompt after hitting the insert guest addition CD there will be a CD icon appear on the side bar you need to click this and run the software there.

This worked great, but the guest additions broke my machine so it wouldn't recognize my graphics card or allow me to automatically install third party drivers. Even from command line. It returned an error that this packages is broken and unsupported. I'm new to Ubuntu and didn't want to spend time trouble shooting it so I just did a clean install over it. I really like that full screen mode, but can you tell me why this happened? I will just leave it as is on this new one unless I can be sure it won't break it again. I want to be able to run proprietary drivers for my Nvidia card and have all drivers update automatically.

At first, I couldn't change the amount of cores that the VM would use. Just in case anyone is having the same problem, I had to go into the BIOS and enable virtualization.
6:22 My only issue with the video is this cut. Because for a first timer to VMs I didn't know exactly HOW to shut off the VM (turns out it's a hard shut off instead of saving its state) and when I rebooted it it was a black screen for sooo long and I thought something was broken but it finally booted up.
Another thing for anyone who can't figure out why their terminal doesn't show their password, apparently it's just invisible. Which must suck if you have a long password so keep that in mind!
U can right click the middle and change the screen size then press right ctrl and f and press enter
When I click "Insert Guest Additions CD image..." nothing happened... do you have any idea what I have missed? I think I did all previous steps sucessfully... not sure why I could not complete it.

Sir, thank you for guiding me step by step for installing the Linux but at the end, while inserting guest additions I faced an error and it says unable to insert the virtual optical disk (destination) into the machine could not mount the media/drive to the virtual machine. What should I do to overcome it

Did you find a solution for this?
It's already inserted so just open the image files, right click on autorun.sh and click run as a program and then it will prompt you to authenticate like in the video and then you will be able to install it.
I had an issue with the insert guest additions CD image
9:39 until here, everything was fine. After that..when I started Ubuntu..now it's stuck.. tried 2-3 times.. closing and starting again but still same, stucked on black screen with faded "ubuntu" written below
