It doesn't work, I tried it a few times Max watts per ten locked between 300 and 400 pre story completed at least it's what I think I'm 5 bagdes in and that's what it's like so far doing this method

Informational reason, that its good for shopping, so corrected to be yet another person who confirm doing it pre story completed this method doesn't net as much.
@@MoistDreams You can always buy them post game, which im assuming they mean clothing, which i personally buy a lot of. While its less and will take a bit longer, it is certainly do-able just much preferred to do post game.

Update: if you don't find luxury balls you can do the raid den date spam AGAIN and they shuffle.
You get 2000watts in post-game. only 300 before then. So before post-game, you'd be getting 864,000/hr

1 thing I'd like to mention, is that you don't have to save spam for a purple beam, since a regular raid gives 2000 W as well. The purple beam is specifically for special / rare Pokémon. Not for simple Watt farming

EDIT 4: As of Christmas day 2020 (Merry Christmas), it still works BUT KEEP IN MIND: depending on how far into the game you are, it may not give you 2000 watts, I don't know this for sure, but I've seen some comments saying it's not 2000.

PSA: This trick still works but if you haven't beaten the game yet it is not worth doing. You wont be able to get 2000 watts per den until you beat the game

Can confirm this still works as at 21st March 2021. Few things to note: this MUST be done with a wishing piece, it can't be a randomly spawned beam already existing in the wild area. Secondly it can be a red or purple beam, both give 2000 Watts after beating the champion

You CANNOT do this with a den that already has a purple beam. Only ones from a wishing star.

Tip: he said you don't need a wishing piece for this to work but you actually do because if it's a random raid beam as soon as you quit after changing the time, the beam will just disappear.

Agree, this needs to be upped as James said. I tried it for the first time with a standard purple beam and it vanished. Figured I did something wrong but then a Wishing Piece worked perfectly. Cheers.

@@rysea9855 you get watts whenever you change time by a day, not when you "save" and reset. Doesn't matter if it's a red or pink beam

For anyone watching this later, I just tried this with a naturally spawning red and purple den and it does not work, however it worked 100% of the time with a purple den I spawned with a wishing star.

You don't need purple den. I don't know why he said that. I and many other people do it without a purple den and just using a wishing piece

Later on the game you can buy a leather jacket that looks like Marnie's and it's 118 K.
True style is worth any price tag. I'm stylin' like a mofo and I have zero regrets on the like 600,000 I spent on clothes XD

@@GamemR It's when you see something that you want to raid pop up and you click join but it says the person was not found, that's the annoying thing. Some of us are trying to complete the pokedex legitimately and we are forced to rely on raids due to the lack of GTS.

Just a heads up: If you are post game, litterally, do not waste time trying to get a purple beam. If you are post game, both regular and purple beams give 2,000 WTS. -2021

@@slippy318 no... just bring 7 Armorite and he can dig up to 150k+ Watts in one session if you lucky. Way more and faster than doing the Raid Den method.
Your job is to collect Armorite from Max raids, bring it to him ans wish for luck.

FYI, when you reset a raid and it acts like a day change the vendors change as well. So you can reset for the lux balls.

@@BlackRuby67 after you get a purple beam, just change the date while searching for people to do the raid with you, quit the raid, collect your 2k watts, go to a vendor. We'll say vendor a has a heal ball and vendor b has a net ball. Now go back to your purple beam and repeat the process I just said then go back to the vendors. Theres a chance they can have the same inventory but I've been able to cycle through all the vendors like this

Pro tip: Don't wait 24 real-life hours for watt traders to reset. Just use a max raid den to set your clock one day forward (it will NOT work if you only push the clock forward - you must also reroll the den) and all the traders will have new inventory.

For those having a problem w/ this method, make sure you check all the requirements. This still works as of 11/26/2019.
Requirements:
1. Become the Champion
2. Use a wishing star in an inactive den.
Note: This will not work if the den is already active. You will just waste time.
Why do you need to be the champion?
Lyca you have more watts as champion in the dens
@@lyca7016 You get like 300 W per active den prior to becoming the Champion, but once you beat the main storyline, an active den gives 2000 W
And make sure you turn off your internet when broadcasting those raids otherwise it really annoys other people.

Just a quick add on: when you do this it not only resets that den but it also resets every other den, Pokemon spawn, spawned loot, digging brothers, and most importantly it changes what the wild area watt shops have in store so you can keep a rotation on what the store guys have until the luxury ball pops up. I usually go around looking for what they all have and grab some new loot, berries, and other den dynamax spawns that also give you another 2k Watts or 200 watts. Grab 10 eggs to hatch and do this in the wild area as they hatch to kill time and get stuff.

So it's better you use wishing piece, as it is fixed to a certain dens

Works as of May of 2022, need to use a wishing piece though and the beam can be red or purple. Make sure you've become the champion first!
Also once you've changed the date you can hit B and then the home screen again and it will be selected on your active game (pokemon) and you can just hit A again to launch it.

I have a question for all you who have tried it out. (Cuz I haven’t yet) I keep seeing people say it’ll screw up their game and it doesn’t sync back up so they can’t trigger the daily eevee spawns, etc etc. How do you guys solve this problem?

Pro tip: in my experience if you do this trick you can put the clock back to the actual day and nothing will happen to the game, at least it's been 30 minutes and I'm still ok

@@X2Brute they didn't; not fully, anyway. The commonly known and easy to execute method with the old man in Viridian City from Red and Blue is patched out in Yellow, but there are still ways to both find and catch Missingno in Yellow which will still mass duplicate the sixth item slot in your Bag. Namely, the Mew/Ditto glitch. Surely more involved, as it requires more setup and more caution, but it is certainly enough to include the full first generation of games, with Yellow inclusivity, when referring to the Missingno duplication glitch.
Postscript - Found a FAQ to save anyone interested some time. Hopefully UA-cam doesn't care about posting links.

Still works, here’s some tips:
•Find the purple beam from your own wishing stone
•When you begin the lobby for the raid, wait until it says “looking for players” before you press home button to change the date, otherwise you get “a communication error has occurred” or something similar.
To the guys who are looking in November 2020. It still works, but only if you used a Wishing piece to spawn the den. On a wild den it does not work.
How do you spawn the den with a wishing piece?

But in 2020 you dont do this method anymore btw if you have the dlc.

Hey, turns out the Watt Traders change each time you Watt Farm. You don’t have to wait 24 hrs. You can just repeat a Watt Farm until a trader near you gets Lux balls.

I was trying in a den that was already purple and it wouldn’t work, so I switched to spawning one using the wishing thing and it started to work
So it has to be a spawned raid?
@@frankgarcia9045 yes, because when you try to raid den spam(change the day etc) it acts like you waited a full day, so regular dens switch their places. However if you spawned a den with a wishing piece the game doesn't despawn that raid, so you have to use a wishing piece.

Note: you don’t need a purple den I’ve done this with a red one it still gives you 2,000 watts

After moving my switch’s date one day forward i return to the game and the den immediately closes saying “communication failed. Please try again”
You can do it WAY faster using the touch screen & being able to quickly touch the areas & scroll even faster. Just heads up :)
As of Aug/13/2021 this still works, just important to note that you do require a wishing piece raid and that it can be either red or purple.

@@ShotgunLlama no you go to a den near a merchant. Throw a wishing piece in enter the player search. Change the switch date to the next day, return to game, cancel player search and go back to the merchant. He will sell u other balls as wells as tms.

@@ShotgunLlama 100% sure there are 4 of them and all of them have new balls as well as tms to sell everyday. Trick works
At 5:02 if you can't find Luxury Ball sellers, you can also move your clock forward the same way you do to refresh dens

I found out today that this can also reset the "Loto-ID" wait time meaning you can essentially farm items out the "Loto-ID"

Idk what went wrong with the previous two users but this exploit still works for me as of today, april 18th. I think my Switch firmware is on patch 10.0
edit: Also want to point out that I used a Wishing Piece. I couldn't get it to work from random dens.
second edit: I started a new game to check if there'd be any differences, exploit still works. Another thing I want to point out is the chance of a purple beam appearing is low. A reddit thread mentioned it was a 10% spawn rate.
