I think you did a great job of still being joyful for the kids to decorate and get excited for the Christmas season, I hope the critter problem goes away, if possible I suggest getting a cat or two, that resolves it so well.

I freaking love the parsimony part of your channel /life (altho I love me some parsnips too).
It inspires me. Do I cook the pumpkins off my porch or chuck them. I think we both know the answer to that. But still I am inspired.
So sorry for the rodent problem. I grew up on 10 acres and we have stories of mice running across our beds (while we slept) - but the destruction and getting rid of them can be onerous. Hugs. You got this.

I’ve always appreciated your pure honesty when sharing your life with us.
Thank You for taking us along with you and walking through your day challenges.
It’s so nice to see you back to filming again. This style of content (and your cooking) has been missed.

So sorry for the rodent problem. We are dealing with something in the attic space above our room. Unfortunately our room is the new addition that was put on the house and there is no access to the attic. We rent so not much we can do.

I’m so sorry you have a rodent problem. When we lived in the country, the.y would come in. Could hear them scratching in the walls. I used moth balls in the barn and, that helped but the best thing is a cat. A good mouser cat is a blessing

Ugh I’m so sorry the rodents destroyed some of your decorations!! 😢 We get mice in our basement every winter! We also have a wooded area across the way! We use mouse traps because we’ve used poison before but then they’ve died in the walls and then you know how much that stinks!! I try and store things in plastic totes! I was late with thanksgiving too! I’m currently working on decorating Christmas! I had a bad ankle sprain November 1st and it’s really put me behind they take so long to heal and working doesn’t help! It’s our busiest time of year since I work at a hallmark store!! We love keepsake ornaments and have way too many!!

There are these plug ins for mice and rats at Lowe's or home depot and maybe walmart? I have had them in my home for 2 years and they really work! My husband put them in his deer camp also and a barn for rats. You might give them a try.

Sorry to hear you’re having issues with rodents especially with it being such a busy time of year for you. I guess this is your ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ situation which most of us have had in one way or another. Mine used to be the electrical appliances going wrong. Now I’m an empty nester it doesn’t seem to happen anymore xx

Ugh I’m so sorry to hear about the rodents messing everything up! We also have noticed a couple small mice and one has died in our walls we think from chewing on wires because there was no poison out. So now we have to deal with the smell. We had our exterminator come and he put poison so I’m hoping we get rid of anymore unwanted ones lurking here. We have 2 cats but apparently they need to be fired 😂. We live on farmland in Texas and we have hay and fields all around us so it’s inevitable we will have them on our property unfortunately. I hope you get yours resolved ❤❤

Like you we had a terrible mouse problem before we were aware. We could not use poison because of the dead smell. The ONLY thing we found
D that worked was the “sticky paper”. I hope this helps. Good luck‼️

Hi Janelle and sweet family! A rodent is so destructive and it’s a mess trying to clean up after them. I hope you can get them run off or deter them.
I remember a house we moved into during the summer in the country and we had two German Shepherds. I remember one night after it started getting cold outside all this loud noise and one of the Shepherds growling. I jumped out of bed and ran to the kitchen and my mother was standing in the doorway. It looked like our kitchen had turned into a slaughter house. Our German Shepherd had killed that huge rat, it had bitten her on the nose and she declared war on it. It was the size of a cat. My poor mother was horrified by all the blood that was slung on the walls, ceiling, floor and everything in between. Needless to say we stayed up most of the night helping my poor mother clean and disinfect the kitchen. We never had anymore rat problems after that.
I’m glad to see the children so excited for Christmas, it really warms my heart.
I hope everyone has a very blessed night!

@@WillowsGarden wow! That’s quite the story! Mice are ok but rats are just awful. They have made big holes in our chicken coop just getting their food. So annoying!

Well it must be a issue everywhere, I live in South Carolina and we also having issues with mice and I pay a pest company and the poison didn’t even help so I’m going go buy sticky traps . I’ve put my dishes in trash bags and tied majority of them up n I stop putting them in our lower cabinets. I had hubby to redo an extra area off from the kitchen n put me in higher shelving for our food pantry and I’m afraid they going naw a hole and get into that room . I don’t have trees , I live on main road and our trash is contained. So I’m so beside myself of dealing with this .

Yes please get totes for food and other stuff that rats and mice 🐁 can’t chew through. We had a mice problem at our last house and a coupe here and well it’s expensive to replace stuff, totes ate an investment but in the long run it’s a whole lot cheaper than replacing everything else.
Hannah is so cute with the ponytail .❤
I prayed for the mice problem to go away . If it’s gods will.
    So sorry you’re having issues.
