In this incredible session, Rizki Juniansyah battled the total of Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, his teammate, as well as his clean and jerk world record from the B group!
They are killing this sport with so many press out calls for tiny wobbles. The commentary just ends up being a discussion on press outs most of the time.

I used to want the pressout rule scrapped but now I think we should keep it. Other strength athletes admire weightlifting because it's very technical and challenging. If we allowed pressouts, I'd be worried that it would be ugly like crossfit lifts or 1 inch bench presses.
Besides, there would still be ambiguity about how much pressout is allowed.

The Indonesian guy deserved that final snatch lift. That was a wobble not a press out
Such a shame! The jury literally ruined this weight class competition. I wonder if any of the jury members have ever competed themselves?
These press-out calls are awful. It's even worse than the Olympics. The final snatch lifts from Yuan and Rizki were good lifts and the refs just robbed them.

Terrible judges... They destroyed that category with those decisions.
While I don't think this is even close to being the worst session when it comes to judging, some of these red lights boggle the mind - for instance, the first Jerk by Andreev.

A lot of people in the weightlifting community are stating that the lockout rule and how it is judged is becoming too strict.
The rule is in place to help the judges be as fair as possible. The clean & Jerk was removed from the olympics at a time due to difficulty in judging, as competitors could get away with terrible form and styles.
If the lock out rule IS becoming too strict, what is the alternative?

What does that even mean? There's no advantage to pressing out a weight, just bin the rule entirely.

Yeah, I'm all for strict judging but really these championships have been way off on the no lift calls. It's like the judges cant make the difference between a press-out and just an arm wobble. Really frustrating to watch.

fellas are super athletic lmao
they 100% do parkour. That jump has a few different names but is called a cat pass
They've been doing that during the whole competition. I kept being impressed by it and Seb & Max barely mentioned it.

It's a shame the TV director has no idea of what he's doing. He could not bother to show replays of controversial judges decisions, so you have to sit down listening to the commentators talk about how "in this angle you see this or that" but you have no idea what they're talking about

Can someone explain to me that A and B session thing? When I google it all I get is Abs workouts 😅
The A, B, C and so on are just the groupings depending on your entry total. It's usually 12 people per group (correct me if I'm wrong) so if your entry total isn't top 12 then you'll be in the B or C or even D session if there are a lot of athletes in your weight class.

You guys should work on at least trying to pronounce people's names correctly. Also reminding that Briken Calja won gold medal in snatch and silver in total at previous Worlds, so Albanians aren't that crap...
