Metronome is (was) recommended by Paco de Lucia in flamenco. Thing is, playing solo, you can get away with timing for some things, but not when you have a dancer or other musicians. Love this reminder. Great teacher (& survivor of Weather Report).

I've said it elsewhere but Peter Erskine always makes me think of a brain surgeon having a change of career... 😉 No one else quite like him I think it's the accuracy and clarity of thought he has.
I absolutely love Peter’s feathery approach. He’s a master of restraint when in fact, he could go all out whenever he wants.
His stick technique is mesmerizing. Like nobody else’s. He makes it look like septuplet fills are the easiest thing in the world.
So great and experienced drummer and still trying to improve himself. A lesson of modesty for us all... Thanks Mister Erskine !
