I can now imagine some kind of nail shotgun that drones will poop out now to counter these balloon tanks, but Ukrainians are just competent enough to decipher the fake ones anyways so no need, but I wouldn't mind popping a bunch and give the russians false hope
they should have covered them with netting so they were harder to see the details on but still know its a tank.

They might have gotten away with that if the photos were taken from a Spitfire at 20,000 feet. Technology has moved on a bit.
Even in WWII they were wise to fake stuff. The Spitfire's had stereoscopic cameras so footage could be reviewed in 3D.
The Ukrainians seem to be smarter and are building detailed solid fake tanks, not inflatables.
still took the resources of a drone team away from an actual target for some time so I'd say a successful mission
@@LostCloudx4 It's called recon "a drone team" is just 3 guys and doesn't waste anything compared to what it was back in WW2, that you need a squad of two figthers to do the recon and wasting fuel.

@@utialtec Exactly, 3 guys sent to an area of activity which turned out to be nothing but balloons...whilst the actual threats are still undiscovered or allowed more time to move into position etc etc. So ... like i said.. it still worked.

I read a good historical fiction novel called "The War Magician" about deception being used in WWII. Definitely worth a read (if you like to read).
Yes the most well known example of this being "The Ghost Army" in the lead up to Op Overlord. Although recon by the Luftwaffe didn't have HD zoom cameras 😂. Good try though ruskies
Many of the stories are true they even made fake citys from steel and burned them with gasoline to throw off the german bombers

@@odrs a really thin aluminum fold can hide a thermal image, even a plastic trash bag could do it so i dont think that this camo idea is a bad one. i don know what would they do with the exhaust gases and the fact that a stationary tank isnt woth too much and if they see it moving they will automatically know its not fake 😅

Inflatable tanks, interesting, I wonder if they use inflatable troops. Though I suppose they could use a heat sensor to look for heat from the tank? Though I suppose if the tank was sitting for too long it would not be hot? One thing I noticed, the brush and trees doesn't appear flattened or crippled, so it is safe to say those tanks never moved.

This is Russia, tanks do not make tracks, tracks make the tank then gets covered with a vodka dispenser in the back, then a brush does a 360 rotation to cover the tracks as it rides. Seems like a good idea though to cover tracks minus the vodka though a tank is heavy and makes deep tracks.

look at the footage for more than 2 seconds
no detail on the body, obvious balloon inflation marks on the turret, the body is just a rectangle, the barrel of the cannon is just stuffed in a circular shape representing the turret.
There is no tank on Earth that looks this much like a toy.
