      YorkshireJoinery, hello and welcome! I had a Dremmel back in 1979 and found they burned out real fast. They are an entry level hobby tool. Fordom is a professional grade tool, they are pricey but last so long they will actually save money in the long run.

    Love this video! I've used Dremel in the past to carve antler, but I just invested in a Strong 202 micro motor carver. I haven't tried it on antler yet. What commercial stains would you recommend - dark Danish oil perhaps? Also, I was just curious if you've tried oil-based acrylics on antler. I saw another maker who was doing that, but wondered if you had any experience with it. Thanks!

    • @StockmanOriginal
      @StockmanOriginal  Рік тому +1

      Hello Four Oaks, so happy to have you with us. I’m glad you enjoyed this video. As far as stain goes l generally stick with walnut tea because it’s subtle. I use it to enhance the piece and make the details pop or to give it a little patina. I don’t usually use color but once in awhile I do and then I use acrylics. Be careful with commercial stain as it might over do it, but it’s fun to experiment with stuff. Love to see what you are doing. If you go on Facebook look for Stockman Original’s lost arts and forgotten crafts where you can join and post your work for all to see.
