- Tragic Cavan Orphanage Fire Ireland. 1943, Where 34 Children Died and one lady of 80 years of age, This is a true story of that tragic night, when 34 Children died because they were in their night clothes and the Nuns said it would be immodest for the Children be seen in public in their night wear,
Anytime in Cavan, I stop on main street and offer a silent prayer.
THIRTY-five orphans who perished in a blaze in Cavan more than 60 years ago were locked into their dormitories as the fire raged because nuns didn't want them seen in their nightgowns.
Terrible. Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power. For all I know; they could be a relation of mine?
🕊Rest in Paradise🕊
May their souls soar 🙏

'The Nuns said it would be immodest for the Children be seen in public' - no they didn't FFS!
More BS by the feminazis
The nuns wouldn't let the children leave their rooms because they thought it would be immodest for the men outside to see the children in their nightwear.
I don't think that's a valid reason to let children burn to death but oh well.
@@eyeballpaul700 old wives tale
@@shredder9536 Those nuns must have been old wives then.
@@eyeballpaul700 It's a nonsense story - there was a full Official Inquiry into what happened & it was plain human error that led to this tragedy.
