federico prat thanks Federico. I wish you all the best in your studies! I hope the software helps. It’s been helping my own students a lot with reading and efficiency
Hi Josh, I have been using pianomarvel for a couple of days now but I think there is not enough precision with the playing on the click/metronome. It will give you 100 even if you are not really totally correct. What do you think of this?
Marie Joe Kfoury hi Marie - the fact that you’re asking this is great news, in that you are holding yourself to such a perfect standard of precision. I believe there is a tiny margin of error, and it is indeed quite tiny, as even very slight things with timing (as you saw in my demonstrations) or notes are marked in red.
do i have to have a keyboard to track the notes i play? is there anyway for me to track notes on my grand piano, also what if my student doesn't have a keyboard? I can't expect them to buy one just for this, because no one will do that.
I tried to use pianomarvel... but not only when I'm sightreading the pieces at pianomarvel but also when I'm generally sightreading, I feel cramped and unconfidend... :/ Do you have some tips? I am playing the piano for 1 year:)
Could someone tell me approximately what grade (abrsm) I am at? I've never taken grade tests but I think playing pieces progressively using the grade system is a good way to not start pieces too difficult for me. Here's the link to the piano piece I recently learned: ua-cam.com/video/_W0z-p9skyU/v-deo.html Thank you!
Bas Eisenga you can just enter the code “josh” when signing up for a free trial. If you did decide you wanted to continue on with the software the promo code gives you 20% off
I’m a little bit confused. Has anyone else noticed, Josh has been using very “click bait-ey” titles recently. When he first did this in his videos, I thought it was meant as a joke. But I’m afraid he’s falling into one of those clickbait youtubers. His video quality is still just as good, but I really dislike these titles. Can’t we just have regular video titles like before?
I think he's just trying to get more subscribers and that is the way to do it. I don't really like it either, but he is a really good teacher and he has helped me a lot throughout my piano journey. I do wish he had more viewers but I agree with you.
Well, as unwilling as I'd like to say it, this sort of title naturally falls into the human's eye, regardless of whether one likes it or not. Btw., this title actually isn't really that much of a click bait since it's not using any exaggerations (e.g. "The Best Way To..."). It only explains the whole purpose of this video, i.e. Josh recommends us to use this app if we're not good at sightreading. I don't know the exact definition of "click-bait", but I comprehend it as a title or picture which message doesn't have a lot to do with the main message/theme of the video. If that's true, then the title Josh's used for this video isn't a click-bait, but simply a title that draws peoples' attention.
AG Cuber I think it's totally fine as long as he delivers A+ quality videos which he absolutely does, and as others mentioned it's a great way to get more views subs that he honestly deserves way more than some other piano teachers/youtubers that I'm not going to name, it's really sad to see that some of his most important and valuable videos only have a couple of thousands of views
Hey Josh, I wandered if you could do a pro-practice on Chopin's Etude op.10 no.8?
Thanks,
Leon
what a usefull app they have developped. I will try it. Thank you for the 2 tutorial videos about it. Regards from Argentina
federico prat aguante Argentina!!!

Hello Josh! I'd appreciate it a lot if you could share the name of the cadenza you play in Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 with me
I wonder if this software can handle Chopin etudes. It could probably help me on those
K46620 it has some of the Etudes in the library

Very Nice app
Miguel Medina thanks for your support Miguel. Glad you’re enjoying it!
Playground Sessions is another good app similar to Piano Marvel.
Dariusz Długopolski thanks for the heads up :)
Does the code “josh” still work today?
Looks like great software. It's a shame it is only available for Windows or Mac. No Linux. No Android. No iOS.
Thanks for the clarification. Still doesn't help me, but I'm sure that it's useful to others.
It is available for iPad
David Kincaid hi David - sorry to hear that. The guys at PianoMarvel are really cool. Shoot them an email and they may have an answer for you
I'll do that! Thanks!
Simply piano

I kinda want to keep the electronic world away from my piano life.

As long as his quality stays the same I'm fine with it, because that's the most important in these video's.
It is but idc XD
