1x 2x 3x ▢12 oz Ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips ▢2 1/2 cups almonds, roasted, unsalted ▢1 tsp vanilla extract ▢coarse sea salt Instructions Add everything to a 3-quart or larger slow cooker; stir. Set the slow cooker to LOW and cover. Set a timer for 10 minutes and stir; REPEAT two more times for a total of 30 minutes cooking time. (see notes) After the chocolate has melted and is smooth, scoop the chocolate-almonds onto wax paper lined trays (see notes). Conservatively sprinkle with the sea salt. (see notes). Chill to allow the clusters set up. Serve at your holiday party or pack onto your cookie trays! Sarah’s Notes This will take only 30 minutes, BUT set a timer for every 10 minutes to stir. If you set to high and/or forget to stir, the chocolate will burn and get stiff, trust me I did this when I was testing this recipe. For scooping, I use a small lever cookie scoop. For the salt, I did just enough to decorate the cookies and give a salty contrast to the sweet chocolate. Variations For nut variations, you can substitute the almonds with cashews, peanuts, walnuts, or macadamia nuts to experiment with different textures and flavors. For chocolate alternatives, try white, dark, or milk chocolate chips to adjust the richness and sweetness of the clusters. Adding dried fruit, such as cherries or cranberries, introduces a sweet-tart contrast that pairs beautifully with the chocolate and sea salt. How long to store and how to pacakage: To store Sea Salt Chocolate Almond Clusters, place them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, refrigerate them for up to two weeks to maintain freshness. For extended storage, freeze the clusters for up to two months, separating layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Note that the appearance of the chocolate may change slightly after freezing. For gifting, present the clusters in decorative tins or clear bags tied with a festive ribbon. What sets your cooking videos apart from other Brits' and Europeans' is your attempt at authentic American recipes using authentic ingredients. I know some ingredients are hard to come by in the UK. Videos like yours will create a demand for them and maybe you will start finding them in your shops and supermarkets. I also appreciate that you use American measurements with proper measuring cups and spoons. So many people don't and I can't imagine how they say the results are great and taste wonderful. How can they say something tastes wonderful when they have never tasted the real deal and have no frame of reference? Your experiences in tasting food on your stateside trips gives you a leg up on other posts. Your cooking skills make a big difference, too. You know your way around the kitchen!
I saw a Brits make sausage gravy and biscuits. He made the biscuits with sour cream and the gravy with plain ground pork not breakfast sausage. Then he rave about how good it was. There was no way that tasted like biscuits and gravy..
It may be regional, but buttermilk pie uses buttermilk, chess uses vinegar and lemon chess uses lemons all different components of acid for each individual pie

That Chess pie needs about 1cup of shredded coconut, some people use flaked coconut but shredded coconut is softer and with a finer texture than flaked.
Here in Texas, we call this Buttermilk Pie. One of my Besties makes her Granny's recipe for Thanksgiving and it is Heavenly!! I'd never heard of it and neither had my Mama. It's yummy stuff! 😋
Back in 2014\2015, in Coldspring, Texas, I worked at a small "mom and pop" southern food restaurant where we made everything from scratch and the lady who co-owned the restaurant made all of the pies that we sold. One of the pies that she made quite often was a chess pie. Seems like I remember that she made a couple of variations of a chess pie but I could be wrong about that part but that was the first time I had ever heard of a pie that was called a chess pie. Seemed like an odd name for a pie to me at the time but I'm not a pastry chef whatsoever. So, I just chalked it up to my general ignorance of pastry as for why I hadn't heard the name before though.
I grew up in North Carolina, and chess pies were an art form. My mom made a wonderful lemon chess. A good chocolate chess pie borders on the mystical.
I've never tried lemon chess pie. That sounds delicious.
LOVE LEMON CHESS PIE!!! ENJOY, YA'LL!!!
Apparently lemon chess pie is the best according to some of our subscribers
Looks great! I prefer buttermilk pie (also of UK origin) but these are also delicious. Well done!
I've had a coconut chess pie on several occasions but don't have a recipe to send, It is fabulous.
Checkmate!

In West and Middle Tennessee, lowlanders have been eating chess pie for many, many, many, generations.
When Elana says “2” that means all of the above good, brilliant, not so bad and all the other British terms!!!
ANY other sound maybe not so much🎉😂❤
Elana is so precious. 😂
This is my Easter Speciality. Try Vanilla Butter-nut flavoring or Bourbon with Chocolate.
fun shirt idea..." bloody mess, on the floor" cooking with H

I once had a piece of bourbon chocolate chess pie. It was heaven on a fork.

Try a coconut custard pie. Similar to a chess pie, but with coconut 🥥

My favorite pies are jus' pie (chess pie); butter chess, lemon chess, chocolate chess, etc.
Do you have a standout variation?
@BritishFamily I no longer have the recipes, sorry.
I grew up in Texas and we ate the original chess pie, sometimes we would mix in chopped pecans.
Oooh that could be interesting
The original is an old.m British recipe it would be fun
Would love to see you try butter tarts like I used to get in Ontario, Canada decades ago but still haven’t found a decent recipe for!
My grandmother was from Ontario. I miss her butter tarts. They were life changing.
I love chess pie. It’s a very old southern pie
egg custards are definitely uniquely totally universally infallibly from britain....can't possibly have come from anywhere else
It looks absolutely perfectly delicious 😊
It's a buttermilk pie here in Virginia too. They are good.
It may be regional, but buttermilk pie uses buttermilk, chess uses vinegar and lemon chess uses lemons all different components of acid for each individual pie
I have never had Chess Pie, lol.
An old British dish that went aell down in the usa
Mrs. H had to carry the video because Mr. H and Elana were too busy eating the pie.
Chess i meant ❤😊
Well I quite like a cheese pie too LOL
@@BritishFamily haha 😄 me too!
Google impossible buttermilk pie. And I hope you didn't just toss those paper towels! Vanilla is one of my favorite scents.

There is no coconut in a buttermilk or “chess” pie. If you’re putting coconut in it, you’re doing it wrong.
Agreed, no coconut in a chess pie. But a TBSP of cornmeal goes into the ones we make
@@TexasRivermedic agree, we put about a tbsp of cornmeal in our pies also.
