that was me even on the 1st boss, because it took me a handful of attempts, but like any game like this the more you do it the better you get.. and I like how all the mobs before hand kind of get you ready for the bosses attacks.
The final stage is so much fun! Although luckily I found a parasite that would regenerate my health automatically when it was low, it kept me alive in that last stage. These bosses are rlly fun this game doesn’t disappoint
I can't stress enough how utterly incredible the sound design of this game is. When he starts BOOM-ing around the arena my subwoofer shakes the room so well I feel it in my gut. Returnal is 2021's GOTY as far as I'm concerned.
I made it to this boss and got him to about 1/4 health on phase 3 before I died, these are not my typical games I play, but it's intense and i am having a blast. Props to you PowerPrx!
Got the game this morning from PS Plus, just beat this guy before quitting. The first time I fought him I brought a shotgun, which didn’t end well. Then I brought the SMG type weapon and it went much better. The amount of relief I felt the second attempt when I saw the portal that lets you skip straight to the top of the mountain… so nice.
My first time getting to him, I had my health up to 200%, had the adrenaline artefact to take you to 5 adrenaline, the astronaut figurine which I ended up using up just before the fight and I had used the replicator in biome 2. Fought him once so far and lost to him on the 2nd round because of panic. I jumped out of the arena twice which messed with my confidence, I accepted defeat before it came. Fortunately I respawned from the replicator with my 200% health so I can return to the fight and go again. It was late so I just used the suspend game feature and I’ll see how I fare when I return to the game tonight.
This game is amazing. This legit one of the best boss I have beaten in any game. Still need to beat the game ( reached the third biome and died again) but it’s really really good so far. Few technical issues but that’s about it ( had one bug where doors wouldn’t open)
@Top Noodle are you sure about that? I've like 30 hrs gameplay time with regular suit and no issues. I'd issues with the doors then as soon as I'd changed!
Haha it's always the third one, first boss I curbstomped first try until his double melee dash beam combo, melted through my astronaut, second rez and third haha
I did grind though: walked through every nook and cranny to get two full health kits and 1 shield, saved them up until his crazy ass phase 3 then killed him while using those items.
Bought it today, went through the first biome and was killed 2 times by this boss. I didn’t do much damage and I have problems to read him but went always third phase....let’s see tomorrow....

Beat this guy tonight -- had a parasite that was +25% gun damage and speed for the next 15 kills (malignancy on detach), and another one that healed me at low health. He almost had me -- second try!
Well I have double your health, double your proficiency. A decent Hollowseeker gun, so now it's my time to try after this. Can't believe I didn't get into this game when it came out.

I finished that boss an hour ago. It was a bit easier for me due to my huge health bar and level 9 weapon. Even though that at the 3rd phase i was at like 2% health.

Well, have to say, first boss was pain in my ass, but I did kill this on my first try, had lvl 8 weapon & 200 % proficiency. That game is no so difficult later...
With the pistol! Lol damn I suck at this game he's killed me twice hopefully 3rd time is a charm. I even had an extra life, large and small health viles plus the carbine. That last health bar he just inhalated me
I just did this fight for the first time, just a few minutes ago - it was somehow easier than the first boss. I died once to that one. I was able to put this one down fast. It was a very fast and chaotic fight, and I did get hit a few times near the end, just with having to time the dashes correctly with the walls and orbs coming at you. On to the next biome now!
Weapon proficiency - 5 is pretty low for this boss so I’m glad it can be done at this level. Just means the fight lasts longer as you deal less damage.
1.Ixion • hardest boss lol , had every move in his arsenal.. A real pain. 2. Nemesis • only difficult too dodge beams. 3. Hyperion • kind of easy. 4.Phrike • only hard if you can’t don’t his melee in time. 5.Ophion • Lol was weirdly easy.

this boss is not that hard because he doesnt deal much dmg, what is hard is getting the way up to him, you dont wanna just skip all and go straight to the portal for him because you will have a very weak weapon and bad modifiers,
I beat this guy on my first try and I was so shaky afterwards. That last phase almost ruined my run. After I beat him I went all the way on to nemesis and died on his last phase. I haven’t been able to get that far again since 😂
When i fought this guy some of his bullets are red? And you made it this far with only 5 weapon proficiency and no health upgrades. This vid is super sus.
What's nice is once you've reached the summit, there will be a shortcut portal made available at the bottom so ya don't have to climb it again should you die or need to go back for something. I would suggest restocking your consumables before the boss. As you can see, this fight is quite the onslaught even if you get the dodge down.
@@S4_QUATTROPOWER not the generic telephoto portal. Do u know the gateway from the first stage to the desert stage? There is a portal like that one in the second stage if u reached the boss lv. It'll take u right back to the boss.
Congratulations! Huh, I killed him at my first try.. Also at my first run on the 2nd Biome.. Tip: try to get the Electopylon Driver weapon: you don't have to focus on shoot him all the time, so you can focus on the defense.
Tip: Avoid parasites unless absolutely necessary or only if the trade off is good. Same goes for malignant items. Also you can phase through most attacks and lasers when dashing, they only hit you when you're staying still or not dashing
After beating this boss, I was so euphoric I thought I'd have a heart attack. My wife even asked me if I was ok lol

I just couldn't bring it into the boss fight as I wanted my combine.
Jesus... after one hit your adrenaline gets reset .. with a pistol.. against ixiom... with minimal health.... that’s impressive
What does max adrenaline actually give you against a boss?

You have to use the standard suit, i had the same problem because i switched to the other two. :) If u use the basic suit, you won't get this bug.

I went three hours to max out integrity and it was touch and go in that third phase. The scream of joy when the trophy sound pinged was pretty loud

I beat all 3 bosses in 45 mins. They're really easy, if you know how to dodge. For act 2, it take 30 mins. Hollow seeker or electron driver.
