- Here's 734 right after it went into service. Washing at the Shop, running thru the yard toward Cumberland. Note no cylinder jacketing yet nor banding on the boiler jacketing. The narrator gives a good overview of the history of 734 at that point. People in the video: Tray, Fireman Little Ray, Little Fear, God Bless You, Uncle Rob, Fear (on the other side of the cab) Hoagy, Mike Manwiller as a young'un. August, 1993
C&O 1309 is under steam again at the WMSR too! Imagine her and 734 doubleheading one day when 734 returns!
0:10 Western Maryland number 734 had wearing the bell from Western Maryland H9 class 2-8-0 number 816 and whistle from Western Maryland I2 class 2-10-0 1114. She began rubbing in service at August 1993.

I have 2 of the original western Maryland railroad spikes from 1950 and my friend got them from comberland Maryland
wow this is great footage.
We used to own its' sister #33 at Hocking Valley Scenic Railway. I have also seen its' other sisters #29 at Grand Canyon, #18 & #20 at Rio Grande Scenic.
