I've pitched for this one in past and it's finally on our list. I usually like to listen to song itself but your cover was so accurate, i used it, note for note. Awesome cover, and thanks for posting! : )
Seth, I gotta love that look you have at the end of your performance of Barracuda. So, calm and yet so demanding. I have had so much fun learning the "tri-pull-it"s for this song.
I just wanted to revisit this.. I used this over a year ago to learn the song and to this day when I hear a band cover this song Seth's work on this tune is the yardstick I measure it by. Besides that, it turns out Seth is genuinely a nice guy. Seth check out Alana Alberg's cover of Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" there is a young lady that will give you some competition for a well played bass line!
That is a fantastic cover. Could you tell me the notes that you play to the words "you'd better make up something quick........" I can't make it out when I try to play it.
Killer man. I play covers from ear (when I do play them) and already knew the song, but I was playing from a 6 string bass perspective. You provided some of the nuances I was missing. I never really studied the song, but I will now!! From what I can tell, you totally NAILED it!!
Smashing job, brother. Thought i was nailing this one already but ran across this video and saw where we differed in a couple places... and listening back, i think you're on it. Great work!
randall rhodes Thank you very much my friend! I really appreciate it! I'm really glad that my video may have been able to help. I'm also glad you enjoyed it :)
Seth - Listened to your cover and discovered for the first time what you have presented, that its not played on the low E... listened again to the album and doggonit if you're not absolutely right! Nice job man... I have been incorrect all these years, as are the other covers I listened to.
For me, the best part was the tone ... Very tasty, well defined tone. Bass amp is mixed in nice! If it may help ... This tune is really about the hand that plucks, not the fretboard hand ... LMAO!!! Atta gallop!
The verses are played with only quarter notes but I actually like what youre doing there even better. My band does this song and I think im gonna give your way a shot. Also you nailed very lick perfectly and the mix is great. Sweet job bro!
Thank you very much! I love my 4 string Trabens. Thanks for the advice. I know my pinky finger looks like it may be troublesome. I have it just floating with no tension on it. But I will keep that in mind and keep an eye on it and see if maybe tucking seems to help without effecting my playing. Again thank you very much :)
Ahhh I love those things! I have never got to play one though but they are sweet. Thank you very much and your welcome! I'm glad the video was able to help.
Thanks for the video!!! I'm supposed to show up 3000 miles away and play this one and about a dozen others, with one quick "rehearsal" the day before. Uh... uhuh.
great cover seth!! and even better vest haha I'd like to show you my cover of this song ua-cam.com/video/0fRlbGftfMs/v-deo.html cheers and long live to rock n roll!! \m/,
Beautiful. Spot on feel for the groove.
Excellent job man! I use a pick when I play it! I applaude your fingering!! 😊

Excellent cover of one of the best Bass driven songs in rock....just love that hook.
Seth, I gotta love that look you have at the end of your performance of Barracuda. So, calm and yet so demanding. I have had so much fun learning the "tri-pull-it"s for this song.

Very nice. Are you actually using your ring finger on your right hand when you play the triplets?
I'm not it's just the two but my technique sometimes looks like I'm using 3.
Thank you very much! Awesome job!
This is the best cover of this song! Note perfect, excellent timing! You could audition for these guys!

Again thank you very much :)

cheers and long live to rock n roll!! \m/,
This bass reminds me of horses galloping. It's weird.
Trevor twoclever My bass guitar or the cover? lol
SethMyersBassCovers No, just in general.
SethMyersBassCovers Well I guess the bass line in is more appropriate.
Trevor twoclever I understand. This song does have what they call a "galloping" bass line in several parts of this song.
I would love to see Steve Harris playing this song
