Very unusual song, but after a few listens I am starting to love it! There is always a catchy unique melody that draws you into the strangest ISB songs and helps you to fall in love with them. This song is really something! You can imagine them getting totally lost in a creative trance here. The band is like no other, and I love them so much!
Such an amazing song. I guess only ISB fans like me enjoy it. It sounds like they were as high as kites but the amazing thing is that it appears to have been written long after they'd taken on Scientology and had given up drugs ! For me 5,000 S, The H's BD and WT&theBH are still them at their very best.
Where did this come from we have listened seen and loved all the ISB stuff since the early 70,s but never heard this. They sound out there again, tye hangmans daughter all over again. Brilliant
love the incredible string band, love this, is on tricks of the senses cd cd 2, the wonderful be glad film is available on dvd, ,many thanks for this song,
I heard them do this in concert, probably around 1970, I think they capped off the concert at the Fillmore East with this. The refrain played in my head while I rode the subway at around 3 a.m. getting back to my dorm, overriding the normal paranoia one would have doing something like that in New York City in 1970. The refrain has remained in my head ever since, and still gets me out of a bad frame of mind.
amazing epic mike heron song tale , like a lot of mikes songs ,catchy too that stays in head, love likkys roses singing queen juanita fishermans daughter b vcls , wonderful, magical story
Thanks so much for uploading. Queen Juanita is one of my favorites by ISM, haven't heard it for many many years, since my old vinyl is gone since long. It's a pity it never has been released on CD. This song just makes me smile :-)
to put it mildly: in 1970 ISB were declining, in every way. "obscured by clouds" i would describe it. QUEEN JUANITA is an oddity in itself. perhaps the most incredibly (sic!) ridiculous song ever recorded, by any band, and therefore (?) not released, in 1970. in retrospect, it is one of the most haunting and (for me) influentual songs i ever heard. they did more stringent things in their early years, but never did ISB venture more fields never explored before. their tragic (with this song and with everything they did) was that (up to now) that nobody wants to see it, and (by now) it´s way too late to late to "murder time", as ISB put it in words (october song) themselves: Sometimes I want to murder time, Sometimes when my heart's aching, But mostly I just stroll along, The path that he is taking.
I don't know what crowd to which they played ... Woodstock was a synch bout; I can only loving imagine. It splashed. I love those musicians and the Celtic and Human values in real talent and real Love they brought INTO what was sweet and special.

I just loved this song when it first came out. ISB are one of the greatest bands of all time in my humble opinion.
