Unboxing the Farmer Foot Drum!

I've been borderline obsessing on putting together a one-man-jam-band and finally had the opportunity to get a Farmer Foot Drum. I can't say enough about how awesome this instrument is and how truly genius the design is. Let me tell you, it is WAY harder than it looks, but I know with time it will come. Like the guitar (and most things), train the muscle memory and then let the mind get out of the way. The mind is still too involved here, but I think it's a good start. Now I'll have to find a way to mic it and incorporate into everything else I've put together. Jam on!

Wow... What a difference. I watched your later video with the kit properly mic'd first. I've not been impressed with most of the vids. turns out it was the recording quaility (which I suspected). Now I'm more interested since hearing that really nice bass sound on your later recording. cool vids.. Thanks..

I would say the Farmer does get a nice bass sound if you mic it properly and it is played through a PA. Anytime I play it out live it really does pop. Some of my videos with the foot drum are just recorded on the iPhone and the compression basically clips out the dynamic range. But I still post some of those more for just sharing the groove and whatnot.
