Could you do a review of the fan edits of The Hobbit Trilogy?
I saw "JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit" by Maple Films and plan on watching "The Bilbo Edition 3.0" (by DanielU92). Was wondering what you think of them, they are much more Tolkien inspired vs the trilogy that we got in the end ...
I’ve been wanting to check one of those out but haven’t gotten around to downloading it yet.
It's hard for me to think there's a Tolkien fan who wouldn't just watch a 40 minute free ( mostly competent) fan-film to see for themselves, and instead watch a 18 minute analysis. My thoughts are pretty well in line with yours, though I wasn't sure about the Dunedain part - but I enjoy seeing a very independent expression of love for something I love, just for it's own sake (even if they seem to prefer the movies).
There's also - if you want - a short Beren and Luthien film, though it's probably the more cheaply made and loosest adaptation of the three ua-cam.com/video/zf3Kit2V0CI/v-deo.html

Oh, I've got no problem with talking and reviewing these things, that's all fun and good - I enjoyed the video and am beginning to enjoy your channel. Just the idea that you might be informing someone about whether they should invest 40 minutes is probably neither here nor there. LoL, But I might be wrong.

They were watching it originally, but they were drawn away for various reasons. It’s been a while since I read the relevant source material so I don’t remember the details but I’ll probably do a video on it once I do.
