Yeah talked with my neighbor. They don't care. So now i'm going to build a dam and force the water back into their yard. Then maybe they will care when it's their yard that's flooding from their run off water.

Ya, same situation here. Neighbours built berms and swales so we had water from 8 yards empty into ours. Very serious issue. Neighbour laughed and said I don’t give a s#@# about your water issues, we don’t want water issues on our property. Big issue, emergency trench had to be dug in 12 inches of water that filled our yard and surrounding yards too. When water filled their yards they were in our faces yelling and threatening and swearing at us that we are flooding them out. Can’t fix stupid eh. So the job cost 30k for us, neighbours offered no help, and we are 70 year old retired people living only 2 years in this house, 2 French drains installed, regrading and sod and stone installed professionally. Neighbours now won’t speak to us at all. Can’t fix ignorant either. Definitely regret moving to this backward small town where it rains almost every day.

Trees don't stop or prevent water runoff. I have a lot of trees and the water goes right between them without even slowing down.

I'm.guessing that the neighbor causing the water runoff won't be too thrilled about underwriting the cost of implementing any of these solutions....
