Mezoma, January 11: The 75th Anniversary Celebration of the Mezoma Students' Union (MSU) continued with great enthusiasm on January 11, under the theme “Vi Kerieke Khe”, with #Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, as the Special Guest at Mezoma. As part of the milestone celebration, the MSU Watch Tower at Mezoma was formally inaugurated by Salhoutuonuo Kruse, marking a historic moment in the union’s 75-year journey. She also unveiled the 75th Anniversary Souvenir. In her address, Kruse, congratulated the Mezoma Students' Union for attaining its 75th anniversary milestone. She commended the pioneers and present leaders of the union for their unity, resilience, and contributions in marching forward across various fields. The minister also acknowledged the achievements of Mezoma village, particularly for nurturing capable leaders who have made significant contributions not only in their immediate surroundings but also for the larger Naga community. She challenged the students to strive for excellence in their studies, emphasizing that with unity and God’s guidance, they can achieve great success. She encouraged them to move forward with determination and prayer, reminding them that faith and hard work go hand in hand. Drawing attention to the sacrifices made by parents, she highlighted that all parents-whether they are rich or poor, good or bad-love their children deeply. She reminded the students that parents give their best to nurture their children, often sacrificing their own needs and comforts for their children’s well-being. “Even when parents are tired or hungry, they put their children’s needs first,” she said, urging the students to value their parents’ love and advice. She called on the students to listen to their parents and give their best efforts in their studies, as education is key to a brighter future. The minister concluded her speech by encouraging everyone to continue working together with unity and purpose, ensuring that the legacy of the Mezoma Students' Union and the values of the village remain strong for future generations. The inauguration ceremony of MSU WatchTower was led by Vidozhaliye Chusi, Secretary of the Organising Committee, with Pastor #Azha Kehie from Mezo-Basa Baptist Church offering the inaugural prayer.
