Omg if I heard that coming from my bike I'd freak out. Glad you were able to figure it out quickly!
Yes it was concerning to say the least 🤣
Awesome! Hopefully that takes care of the issue! 🙏🏽
These upcoming three days of my daily commute before the big trip will be very telling. I did bring the bike up to fan temps and everything cooled as normal, so I’m pretty confident!
Good stuff!! Vert straight forward process!!!
Easy peezy! 😬👌
Thanks for another helpful video Bro.
Always happy to help our fellow Fizzer riders brudda! 😎🤙
I think here in Canada we actually had a 2017 FZ6R that was silver and blue. As far as the coolant goes, you can run distilled water I believe as long as your ambient temps don't get near freezing. I will be doing my coolant this year as well.
Ended up going with Prestone “all vehicle” blend from Walmart. It’s yellow and ethylene glycol based with corrosion inhibitors. So far so good.. temps are perfect!
Sweet vid bro i have the same scratch on my stator cover🤟
LOL man I would love to swap for a clean one but they’re damn pricey! 😆
This video is golden, just what I was looking for. Really appreciate you taking the time to put this up for us! Have to do this on my 04 R6 pretty soon (leaking from the weep hole). Do you happen to know if the water pumps from all years are interchangeable from the FZ6 to early R6's? The only difference I see was the internals like the metal to plastic shaft were changed. Was wondering if a 15' FZ6 pump would fit my 04 R3? Thanks again for posting this!
I’m glad you found my tutorial helpful! A great deal of parts are interchangeable between the FZ6R and FZ6, but the big sister R6 tends to have varying architectures for its accessories that don’t necessarily line up with the FZ6 and FZ6R’s designs, even though the engines are virtually identical. As cheap as low mileage water pumps are on eBay, I wouldn’t chance it. Find you the newest year model pump available that falls in your exact model’s generation, and I’m sure you can find a killer deal like I did. If the seller lists the mileage of the bike that the pump was removed from, then consider that a bonus! Thanks for watching!
@@HalfClickUp Just what I was looking for, thnx again! Will wait to hunt down one that falls under my year range R6, even though it looks like one would fit all they way up to a 2017 FZ6, but like you said probably not worth risking just to save a few bucks. Looks like the change over on the pumps was around 2010, but the only difference seems to be just the inner housing shape, internals: impeller shaft & mechanical seal. Either way I'll just play it safe on this one. Greatly appreciate the vid!
@@jrock9687 good luck, and let me know if you have anymore questions during install 👍
@@HalfClickUp Will do. Thnx again, appreciate all your help!
Another video needed that you posted your the best as always. My tube that comes out of the pump has a hole so I’m leaking coolant so I have to replace it 😔
Easy peezy 😉👍
@@HalfClickUp yessir 🤘🏽
hey big guy witch web site do you go to for your OEM parts it seem easy for you to find them. ps keep up the work man your on tour way!!!!!!!!!
Hey man, thanks for the encouragement! For OEM parts I go to partzilla.com. Nobody beats their prices 🤙
Good sharing video.
👍👍👍
Thanks dude!
Happy New Year!
I have the same issue - sound and also leakage back down from water pump.
FZ6 600 2004 58000 Km
Many thanks!!
Happy New Year! Glad my video helped you!
@@HalfClickUp I have to wait the dealers to open on Tuesday so i can order the parts for my pump.
Thanks for all!
Hi!I have interesting problem can you help to me?1 month ago the fan guard would open at 100c and turn off at 102 100 98 96 93. Now it shuts down late. 100 fans turn on 102 103 105...then 98 drops and the fan does not turn off again it becomes 100 102 105 again very slowly and turns off late. The fan is solid but I changed the brushes with a nice workmanship. I changed the Coolland. I changed the air filter. There is no problem on normal road at medium speed. It happens in traffic and idle. Can you have a suggestion?I didn't just disassemble the thermostat, but it opens, I tested it from the radiator..My engine is fz6r diversion f...😊
Hello! What you’re describing sounds like normal fan operation while riding in traffic during warm weather. I know that while riding in traffic during the Texas summers, my fan will turn on at 100c and not shut off until I’m well underway again at medium speed. I would only begin to worry if your fan does not turn on at 100c.
You saved my wallet thank you 🙌
Glad it worked out brudda 💪😎
i have a 2019 yamha R6, and it seems to be leaking from that leak hole.. do you why? do I need a new pump? thanks
Yes that’s the weep hole. If you have coolant leaking from there, it’s a warning that your pump is on its way out. Replace it ASAP.
Weep hole* 😅
Man thanks for your video and your response 🙏 really appreciate it
@@fugaz07rs hey man, weep hole is a highly technical term. 😬👌
1 more thing do you have a address to send you stuff?
Sure man shoot me an email and I’ll reply with an address.
Love my fz6r but wanna buy a r6 or r1
I’ll be upgrading in the future as well, but I’ll be keeping this old girl in the stable 😉
👍👍👍👍👍
😎🤙
Where did you find the service manual
It’s a .PDF file, drop me an email and I’ll send it to ya 👍
@@HalfClickUp Hey man, love the videos.... any chance I could get in on the pdf? Ive just bought an FZ6R couple days ago.... absolutely love it. But only came with a key. A 2013 model who would have thought no books records or anything. Will shoot you an email if you could be so kind as to send it.
Thanks
@@boosted1328 absolutely, congrats on your purchase and welcome to the #fizzernation
Were there any other heat or problem other than sound?
No because I caught the issue in time. I have no idea how much longer it would’ve lasted before failure and overheating became prevalent. It’s kind of a saving grace that they get noisy like that before they tank.
@@HalfClickUp Thanks...Good work👍
@@turbinebass thanks for watching brotha!
How many miles on the bike when you did this
I believe it was around 57k.
I have a 05 fz6 where is the best lace to get a water pump and do you know the part number by chance
@@ChrisSmith-bc7mh I found mine on eBay from a seller called SunCoastCyclesSports out of Florida. Looks like they have one for your bike. I'd order this one and replace all the rubber seals and the O-ring. Clean it up real good with some degreaser and install. The replaceable rubber seals and O-ring are all available from Partzilla.com, and here's the link to the pump I'm talking about:

have you been able to open the one that you took off???
LOL I was beginning to wonder if anybody was ever gonna ask me about that. No, I haven’t opened it yet, but I do still have it and will shoot a vid soon!

@@HalfClickUp now you got me wondering what's wrong my pump is leaking but haven't check where it is coming from my guess is the outer seal but now that I watched the video I wonder if that ceramic seal is the one
@@JuanMartinez-we2wo could be weeping from the little weep hole. What’s your mileage? Ever changed the coolant? Is the pump squealing yet?
@@HalfClickUp is not squealing, mine is almost 15K miles, I just changed it that's when I started noticing next morning a small spot stain of coolant on the floor and
now I wonder should I replace the whole pump where did you bought yours?
