Sony does not over exposure too much the colors and the light conditions. i'm owning XZ1 and i very good know what this phone can do at night. For good picture at night need light - no software which "predict" the colors. Brighter picture does not mean better picture. Do not agree for mate10 better at night.
There are situations where the Mate10 will do better due to the OIS (actual OIS, not software). Overall I prefer the Sony (and I have one of these cameras) so I'm stuck with the lesser night performance in videos and auto mode night photos.

When you read Sony better in OIS and you see a full jerky video and a full smooth video for huawei, Sony can't defeat Leica camera in fact you give point for Sony in day cause you think huawei is too exposed... Huawei camera is a professional camera so you need to change exposure / ISO when you need it. Also the huawei have the true colors. The only point for Sony is the sound (and it's gorgeous) and the face facing cam.
At night Huawei fucks the Sony, that actually hurts me cuz I'm a Sony fan, anyway I'd choose the the Xperia, I just hope Sony improve their cameras for the next gen.

It's "Electronic Image Stabilisation" EIS with the Sony. There is no OIS as such due to not being a hardware thing.
