  • In the wake of the recent Paris climate change agreement, the developed world, including Ireland, have signed up to a monumental challenge to secure our future. Every UN nation has agreed to do their part to eventually tackle and attempt to halt global warming.
This effectively means phasing almost all fossil fuels out of 1st world economies in the next 30 years. While this challenge seems very ambitious, Duncan Stewart takes a journey to Denmark, who aim to transition to a fossil fuel free, 100% renewable energy future by 2050.
Duncan will see what we can learn from our European neighbours and will discover what this transition would really mean for Ireland.

its good to see someone who is aware and can see the logic in not paying for energy

Good episode and an inspiring example. I feel unsure about the economic growth/decoupling logic. It conflicts with the idea of transition. Green growth is not a transition: it is the same system as today but then green. A transition is transformative to both the content and process of growth. Given your opinion in previous episodes on the community aspects I suspect you're more of a transition-man than an ecomodernist. Please reconsider the "growth is good" undertone for future episodes.
