From the time we were told she had stage 4 cancer it was only 2 months. It was totally unexpected and it was so incredibly hard as she was my best friend and my rock. Thank you for sharing your personal moment about your dad and his fight with cancer. I too lost my mom to cancer just over 2 years ago and it was so quick. From the time we were told she had stage 4 cancer it was only 2 months. It was totally unexpected and it was so incredibly hard as she was my best friend and my rock. I LOVED this very real and completely raw reaction this song makes me feel like that everytime I hear it I lost my wife 1 and a half years ago very suddenly like no warning and in my arms at home and I felt like quitting and I hear this and I do it for her because it is what she would have wanted for me and I do it for my kids even though they are all grown and have thier own lives now this song is one of those that just got me through my darkest times and still does I hurt every day and I miss her so much but I know that she is with me and watches over me now so I go on just like you your dad is with you always and watches over you he would want nothing but the best for you and so do all those that care about you like me again thank you for being you and sharing yourself with us.

I hope you stay hopeful! My mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer when I was 8. She had one of her breasts removed and is alive and healthy to this day. I am going to be 30 this year. I feel extremely blessed. Rise up and I’ll be praying for your dad and your family. 🤍

It's been awhile, Gitana. Nice to see you back. I used to think this Rise Up cover by Morissette is pretty much untouchable from anyone in the foreseeable future. And then she decided to make an acapella version of the same song - with the vocal group 3rd Avenue - which she released last year on her birthday. THAT to me, is probably the best this song is ever going to be sung.
You made me cry, this is why i like mori's cover of rise up... my mom died of cancer and my dad died of kidney failure, now im fighting my own battle/sickness... this morissette cover of rise up is my go to song when i feel like im quitting... anyways... GOD bless you gitana and all of us 😇😇😇
Drs gave my aunt only a couple of months but that was at least 5 years ago.
I lost my dad almost 4 years ago. He died suddenly of a massive heart attack. But he rose up through out my life just being my dad and doing what he had to to take care of us. He fought through some daily battles to be strong for us. I miss him so much. 😔 my thoughts and love go to you
