SkateX has no significant advantages. Although it may enhance the glide, on the other side the bindings are a lot heavier and it is unknown how the bindings perform in deep snow when the ice and wet snow gets under sole of the boot. Also, jumping to SkateX means to start paying patent fees to Rottefella. Been there, done that. No, thanks.
@ I skied it for a few kilometers last winter in Engadin. It was noticeably more stable for the gliding ski and on the downhill. You’re right, for elites it’s likely only a 1-2% (as advertised), but for beginners and intermediates it might be worth much more, especially over longer distances. I guess we’ll see.
