The house he’s recording this at is in southern Western Australia, its called the Waves House. He recently just bought the house off of a group that was using it for live streams and that sort of thing.

The reverb into a fuzz and phasers set to a slow rate are the hallmarks of Parker's guitar sound, which has influenced many modern psychedelic rock bands to have a similar setup, which Parker says "it’s the most flattering thing in the world to hear a band ripping you off."

bro. he ripped off so many others ...haha this sound is not his sound. they literally sound like a few other bands io know that have been out for a while but this is pop and pop is always populr to the masses no one actually cares about the music and what took him where he is now, he did not invent this sound at all you would be surprised to hear what i have heard .

@@Ali_Clarkson I've just discovered Powerlines today as well as this video and I also prefer this version. For me, the original has this overpowering 3 note melody that gets introduced in the middle and takes the track off its course.
@@shotbydebt here everything just sounds and feels much more impactful. The mix is hotter, and everything is punchy. It seems so much more raw and I love it. This is my preferred Take Impala style

If the wood is finished properly you don't need to worry about condensation. Try using polyurethane instead of linseed oil for a good seal.

@@dolf7097 but its not the same. however, if u look up powerlines extended, youll get several versions that mix the drum part in the final version with this demo of powerlines. also, a guy named alpha has an extended version of this particular demo if that is specifically what u are looking for. Jared Rosenberg probably didn't suit the album. Sorta like Beverly Laurel with lonerism
That's become my opinion as well as I listen more (and more and more), though I think depending on what this track actually is (an instrumental segue like Nangs? or perhaps this is only a segment of a longer track -fingers crossed for an 8+ minute odyssey) it might have been a nice way to turn the corner into "Act III" of the album, i.e. after Disciples into the slower-tempo, dreamier tracks that take us out. If it wasn't evident by now, I listen to Currents at least 1x a day :D

turns out it was an instrumental after all... i think all 3 of the "new" tracks are great, each could have made the album in one way or another, but ultimately were better left as formative conceptual starting points and probably got the proper treatment as b-sides

Same here, I actually went ahead and made a little edit to fit this teaser's audio with the original Powerlines release within 2/3 of the song in a semi-haphazardly manner in which it fades initially with the bass solo part then fades out towards the ending just in time for the fade out portion. Not the best mix, but that's the best I can find a way to insert the audio.
