"Hi,there Paul can u show more of your demonstrations on dribble sticks combination for beginners in kali just interested to learn more about the art of kali self-defense
Thank you for doing that "behind the back view". you are the only one I have ever seen do this!! It helps so much when you can see it from that angle!! Please continue to do it! In fact, do it for every video if you can please!!
This looks amazing! You make it look so easy!! I am about to embark on a Kali journey and start learning for a place near me. I am looking forward to it. Your videos have inspired me. Thank you.
You should really do a collaboration with Jake Mace! Kali Center and Kung Fu Center, imagine the possibilities! That would bring my martial arts training to full circle! Thanks for sharing, great work as always.
As a fellow practitioner of Kali, I appreciate this video and the fact that your footwork is very good. Tell me, while you're swinging are you emulating two machetes or two double edged short swords? I'm curious because I see that you let the sticks (swords) lightly graze your arms while swinging. Which would be no problem if you had two single edged weapons.
+79ward Thanks for watching and taking a moment to comment. At the KC we use the rattan as a training tool for the Ginunting, Talibung and Dahon Palay which are our primary style Bolos.
Two questions. I try and practice stick forms outside as I do not have enough room in my place to swing them w/o hitting something. I am concerned about cops coming around and giving me grief for practicing them outside even when no one is around. So my question is 1. Do you know the legality of practicing with sticks outside in IL? 2. Have police messed with you for doing so, and if so, how did you handle it?
I train outside all the time. I've never had any issues with practices or even training with my students. It's legal to practice with sticks and training tools in IL as long as there is no public disturbances.
Thanks Paul. When I do practice, I do it at night when no one is around, We have lights that light up the park area so it's not like I am in the shadows and looking "menacing". It also helps that my neighbors know me and wouldn't call the cops. I think it's when a person would call because they see a "threatening" person swinging sticks and makes them feel "uncomfortable"is when it would be considered a disturbance. even though they are in their house nice and safe ;-) #peoplearescardycats

:O that looks so cool but i dont know what the 1,2,4 mean... XD i feel stupid
The numbers reference the striking angles from the system we use.
oh. that makes sense.
You know while i was watching this i see that 1 and 2 look the same. if there's a difference please let me know.
