DLow is the cleanest beatboxer in the world. His sounds are all so deliberate and he does not waste a single morsel of air. To be able to maintain that level of clarity after 7 minutes is superhuman.
i def think that where dlow shnes the most is his techno tracks. his soundscape is incredible for techno with some many textured basses and very high sounds
i think battling would put him in a box that he's long grown out of. limiting your music to 1.5 minute snippets, prioritizing pleasing the crowd and being impressive over making art that resonates, putting otherwise great tracks in a context where they're forced to be graded like a school test. ever since he's started drifting towards an artist that specializes in beatbox instead of a beatboxer i've been loving his stuff more and more. i hope he can prove to people that as mainstream as battling is, its not the only option.
