    We have a 2022 RAV 4 Prime model SE now with 24,000 miles and purchased March 2022. All electric range depending on weather conditions here in Northwest Oregon varies from 40-50+ miles. MPG just on gas operating in pure hybrid mode with a completely depleted battery has bee 45+ mpg more in summer and a little less in winter.
    I can't think of a better SUV than this one with excellent MPG while operating on regular grade gas and 40+ miles on all electric. With its 14.5 gallon gas tank it would not be a stretch to drive over 600 miles on a full tank of gas and battery.
    The only downfall is trying to find one at MSRP. My wife and I purchased our in March of 2022 for MSRP (and not a penny more) and with the FED TAX Credit of $7.500 and Oregon rebate of $2,500 ($10,000 total) the drive away price was less than a comparably equipped 2022 RAV 4 Hybrid. Our RAV 4 Prime sets you back in your seat when you need to pass or enter the highway like no other SUV I ever drove.
    Our last Toyota we sold was a 2010 Prius with over 186,000 miles when we sold it to a friend of ours nearly 3 years ago. He is still driving it now with nearly 250,000 miles on the odometer and with the original traction (hybrid battery) he only needed to replace the brakes a couple of years ago. Toyota does have a good reliability in the hybrid field thats another reason why we bought the Prime.

    I own 2021 Prime. Xse, I charge it few times a week and currently covered 519 miles and used only a quarter of a tank. My empg at this time is 85.8. Efficient, reliable and quick when you need it(302 hp total output and around 5.5 seconds to 60. Love it.

    I will say, it does sip on gas, I have a 2022 prime SE and avg is 47.7mpg I do half city half hiway and if you can juice it up every night, you will get anywhere from 580-760 miles on tank. my current EV range is actually 52 :)

    Charge hold works very well and charges the battery faster then with the 6.6KW charger. When you drive longer distances you can fully charge your battery on the highway and use EV when entering the city. I never use the cable to charge and never have waiting time to charge. That was the main reason I decided for the Prime. Unfortunately, this feature is never highlighted in any test

      I've got a 23 prime. When I ise the charge/hold it seems to get significantly less mpg. I do a ton of hwy miles everyday. Have you noticed that at all?

    • @Lordoftheflatbush
      @Lordoftheflatbush 2 місяці тому

      I do notice a drop but like 5-10% less, not dramatic. I only use it when cruising at constant speed. Accelerating is not convenient with the motor running without electric support.

      Yeah, a major reason why I chose Rav4 over competitors like Honda CRV. I travel a lot so a spare tire is a must. I have a AAA too but it only takes a few minutes to replace a tire vs hours of waiting for help to arrive out in nowhere, and that's only if there is a cell signal.

    • @myytchannel6632
      @myytchannel6632 6 місяців тому

      @matrix-fh9tn Very good points. I am not happy that Honda made the CR-V Hybrid with no spare tire. That is a good reason to buy a Rav4 Hybrid. It's sad that to find one at MSRP is almost impossible.

      Since I own one, 2021 xse prime, I am very interested in knowing the truth about this car. What is it? Please do tell. And what are those issues you speak of? So far so good, zero issues on mine. Between a full tank of gas and charging the battery, I average 1000 miles before I have to fill up. Could do way better and a lot more but EV infrastructure is nowhere where it needs to be. Furthermore, 302 horsepower and around 5.5 seconds to 60, no range anxiety, Toyota's reputation, reliability and resale value. Could not ask for more so... What is the truth and and the issues?
