- Shocker turned out to be a pretty good release despite the lack of paint. Will this relatively simple release be able to impress despite the basic character design and limited articulation?

Hasbro’s the masters of “one step forward, 3 steps back.” They did a pretty decent job on the double ball neck joint on this figure, then a few waves later, they make Ravager Thor with a ball joint about as bad if not worse than the Retro Spidey mold’s. This is what makes Hasbro so frustrating. They show us that they can make good decisions, then they peddle back. And its not out of a place of budget since, in some cases like the ball joint, its the same amount of plastic done right as done poorly, its a matter of apathy.
He actually looks like his card art, that's astounding for Marvel Figures.
This one was probably the most surprising from the assortment. It's bizarre to me how hard Hasbro went to make this a good release, a C-list character, and they put so little effort into an A-lister like Hobgoblin.
The brass knuckles say head.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Hammerhead. His best story by far was when they made him serious and gritty. Called himself ‘The Hammer’ and just massacred people to a bloody pulp. Also dislocated spideys jaw. Really nasty
It says HEAD on his rings btw
Aaand I believe it’s the Happy Hogan body
in which story did he dislocate spidey's jaw?Can you please tell me which one it is,i would like to check it out.
@@ssm840 honestly not sure off the top of my head - but if you track down when Hammer head goes by ‘The Hammer’ it’s the only time he has I believe.
I also really liked him in the shattered dimensions game. The 30’s-40’s vibe really suited him and he was badass with those tommyguns
I think the brass knuckle say "DAEH" when you look at it from the angle on your camera. That's so when he punches, you read "HEAD", like the ambulance effect xD (I remember that episode from the Simpsons haha)
The funny thing was, after he asked us to read it for him, he went on and said, "Oh the head. Let's talk about the head."
I love hammerhead, I liked him a lot in shattered dimensions and in spectacular Spider-Man
Just so you know, his body mold is reused from Happy Hogan (which is an MCU character played by Jon Favreau) mold which he's two packed with MK21 Ironman
I didn't think the Happy Hogan/Jon Favreau body mold (our third suit body to date) would work so well for Hammerhead, but the new coat piece and head really, really sell it
I couldn’t have cared less about this figure when the wave was announced. Then they arrived he was the standout figure for me. Weird how that goes.
Loved your video. Hammerhead's suit will look great in contrast beside the white suited Jigsaw and Kingpin. I think the ML did a great job with him. The suit design is promising for many other characters: Purple Man, Chameleon Man, and hopefully a new Tombstone. Unbelievable a Tommy Gun or even a violin case wasn't included.
One of the very very few Legends figures I bought this year. I put him next to my Kingpin. They look like they belong together.
I got this guy for half-off and I think that's a good price. $23 for a bare-bones toy with old sculpt and minimal accessories is a no-go. His hands are also awfully small, but other than that he's pretty solid.
You can say that Hasbro nailed it.
I like Hammerhead. He’s not like one of my favorites but I like the old timey gangster type theme he has and somehow it works. I had to get a Tommy gun for mine. Just seemed right. 😂
Best of the wave in my opinion. I’d love to get more of Spidey’s crime rogues.
I never really cared for Hammerhead. As far as Spider-Man villains go, I normally think of him fighting animal characters (like Scorpion, Rhino, or Vulture) or super powered characters (like Kraven, Venom, or Electro). I typically don't consider the street-level villains like Hammerhead or Tombstone for Spider-Man because they should be more for somebody like Moon Knight or Daredevil; especially because they're mobsters. I don't dislike them, but they're just kind of removed from thought for me.
The only time I thought they fit quite well, was in the Noir universe from Shattered Dimensions. Thematically and on a power-level, that made sense to me and it worked pretty well
...But Kraven is also animal themed. And that's what's great about Spider-Man's rogues gallery, is that he has animal themed villains (I even technically consider Venom & Carnage and the other symbiotes in the animal themed category because their powers stem from emulating Spider-Man's) natural elements type villains (Electro, Sandman, Hydro-Man, Molten Man, etc)Mysterio is really in his own category of whatever that is. The goblins (Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Demogoblin, even though he's really a good guy and even Jack O' Lantern, though not a goblin, but still), and street thug villains and crime boss villains. It rounds out Spidey's rogues.
I actually also loved these 2 figures from the wave and also armoured Spidey. I love the sculpt on that one.
If he was younger and not retired, Joe Pesci would be the PERFECT casting for this guy in a movie or show
Hammerhead is so cool and awesome 😎
The Brass knuckles say “head” backwards so when he punches you he stamps you with “head” haha
Q of the Day: Hammerhead is sentimental favorite. I started reading comics in the mid 70s, right around the time he was first introduced in Amazing Spider-Man. He’s the only figure of this wave that I own. I passed on Shocker for the same reason I passed on most of the other figures in this wave: substandard paint apps. Re-release him with the quality of paint apps that the first Hasbro Shocker had, and I’m all in. I’m actually surprised that Hasbro gave Hammerhead his pinstripes given the lackadaisical approach to the wave as a whole.
I had never seen this guy before but I like his overall look and silly head. Thanks for another great review Anthony❣️😽🤟
Totally agreed, hammerhead and shocker are the standouts of this wave. Matter of fact, those are the only two figures I have bought.
Not only would his neck and spine shatter but assumably his hair and scalp aren’t made of adamantium either so he would have a lot blood gushing and pooling on his flat top as well.
I always liked Hammerhead as a Spidey villain because of Enter Electro on PS1.
Wow another retro figure, Hammerhead , me da tres pitos, I don’t know how you remember the way older figures look, but I guess that’s why you are the action figure guru, thanks for the video bro 😎
I’ve always kind of like this guy. When I was a little kid my dad gave me a couple of his old comics one of which featured the storyline we’re Hammerhead came back as a ghost for some reason?
I kind of wish the head was bigger. In some comics, he's close to Modok proportions.
Ohhhh Anthony noooo, I would've put my hands on fire saying you'd say the knuckle thing was a nice touch!!!! I was literally waiting for that
Don't really care much about the character at all. But I do need a suited thug figure, and this guy fits the bill. Plus, remember the Chameleon figure? How awful that head sculpt look for hammerhead? Yeah, this upgrade was desperately needed.
Character wise, I know virtually nothing about him except he’s a gangster but concept wise I think he’s kinda cool with his hard head lol
I liked Hammerhead on Spectacular Spider-man.
He's alright. On par with Black Mask where he has some cool storylines but not my top 5 favorite rogues
The Brass Knuckles say Head backwards.
The body is from Happy Hogan
Wow what a shocker you think the Shocker is the best in the wave. Yes hammer it home to Hasbro!! We need better head/neck articulations. No his spine is fine because he is head strong. New suit, pinless joints, would you say this figure is ahead of the rest!
pretty sure the knucks say OZZY
The brace knuckle says the word "Head", but reversed ;)
Seen it for £10 today should I get it
yes
Anybody got a 1:12 scale tommy gun?😅
No guns for this animated series wave...even though it doesn't have to appeal to broadcast standards anymore?🤷🏾♂️
Honestly don't care about the character as you said a mafioso into head-butting isn't something Punisher couldn't handle so it is laughable for Spider-Man.
For the figure I like the new parts and can be used for a generic suited thug.
It says head backwards so if he hits someone it indents his mark
I'll take any spiderman villan I can get
3 minutes ago? Wow.
Never really cared about hammerhead. He was mainly in the filler episodes for the 90s animated series. Good looking figure though.
Pretty close to zero. Always seemed like a dick Tracy villain that got caught by spider man instead.
has HammerHead actually hammered anybody with his head?
Another head banger!
Nice!
Hammerhead is definitely a “filler” villain.
I'm actually quite surprised that they even did the pinstripes on the back of the figure. The person who gives the final "Ok" on the paint job, must have called in sick that day.😛
Hammerhead?
Undeniably, a well-established rogue in the gallery, but… meh from me
