How a coin flip decided Pokemon's largest tournament
Вставка

- The 2023 Orlando Regional Championships was the largest live Pokemon VGC tournament in the history of competitive Pokemon, with 780 competitors attending. The finals featured two of the most prominent VGC players, Wolfe Glick and Ashton Cox, and this was their THIRD time meeting in a Regional Finals. The set was incredibly exciting and came down to a single coin flip to determine the victor at the end! In this video, I break down the finals and what made it so exciting.

It's my first time trying out edited analytical content like this, we put a lot of time and effort into making this one so I really hope you enjoy! (for those that were watching yesterday, I had to re-upload since we had a copyrighted song, so apologies!)
I was half way through this when it got privated yesterday lol
Next level content brother! Make more of this!
Love all your content but this is peak content to me! Sooo good
Love this video
Can you highlight Brandon's run at Knoxville next?
Great analysis and great video brother, you knocked it out of the park
A wild Wolfey appeared!
💙
Please post bro
@wolfeyvgc I give you a lot of credit for making scream tail look great. Can’t wait to see more of what you did with iron juggulis.
Coin flip??? That’s the world champ difference bby 😂
I don't have feedback for improvement, but after reaching the end I want to add that I really appreciated the insight into the specific EV training of Arcanine, gholdengo, and iron hands and how it affected the matchup, the damage calculations and whether misses/critical hits impacted the outcome, potential outs the players could play toward, and the thought process behind bringing certain Pokemon and behind game 2/3 team/strategy adjustments. I know these things probably take a while to research, but they add a lot of depth to the video!
I’m sure this takes longer to produce than your other videos, but we definitely need more of these. This was awesome
Almost looks like he used Wolfe's editor though, The editing style is similar to Wolfe's video for this one.
@@ZolrainSo? It’s still well made and entertaining. What else do you want?
@@furretfan450 Wasn't insulting the work? I meant it helps that he had someone to help him produce the video so it should have made it easier on him.
Wolfe didn’t just win with luck. He won with a little something scientists call the world champ difference.
YOU MEAN CRAP< IDIOT?!
Not to be confused with the Whirled Champion difference, otherwise known as “Spin to Win”
The world champ difference baybeee
@@Vassilinia Cringe difference, like he is.
Aaron's in depth knowledge of the subtle aspects of the game combined with the cool editing makes this breakdown so enjoyable! Would love to see more of this content in the future :)
This. Is. Awesome. You are without a doubt the best commentator and analyst in the VGC community and this extremely detailed analysis is so easy to follow and so insightful! Also I’m so happy that this amazing match has got us fans so much content from people like you and Wolfe himself. Can’t wait to see more videos like this from you!
The quality of this video is top notch! Such smooth editing and commentary
Definitely wanna see this for more sets, even if it’s less edited and you just go through and analyze a game that’d be fantastic
Loved the edited video. It's obviously much more resource intensive to do than your other stuff; there was clearly a lot of work that went into this. I found early on with my edited content that my hardcore fans enjoyed it more, but it didn't attract as wide of an audience. I settled on non-edited content and it made my production line much easier, I'm curious to see how it goes for you though as this was really enjoyable to watch.
I would like to think Aaron asked both Ashton and wolfe to take a picture for him to put in his thumbnail. And if it’s true, it’s hella wholesome and hella amazing!
Amazing video and analysis Aaron..I was sad you weren't commentating the match as imo your commentry is superior with the sizeable knowledge you have of the game.
But this was a nice recap on the game and a great video.
Would watch more match analysis like this happily.
wonderful video . your explanations make complex plays easier to understand and this video really emphasized how important targeting decisions are in vgc . i certainly wouldn’t mind more of this content !
This is the best commentary that i ever watched about VGC. Cheers to Cybertron and to the 2 both wonderful players
When I first saw the title and thumbnail, I thought Wolfe uploaded this video lol. Well done Aaron!
No, if Wolfe uploaded it, it would've had his face plastered all over the thumbnail with an all caps title 💀
I love this content, please bring reviews of exciting matches from tournaments, not only the final. I remember how fun to watch was this game someone brought Camerupt in the Knoxville regional.
Please continue to do these! I’ve never been into VGC before finding your content but now I’m truly invested.
Great video! Loved the deep analysis. When I first watched the stream I didn't realize many aspects that you now bring on the video. This shows how complex this game is and how there are so many strategies and predictions envolved. Btw, I would love more content like this, Aaron!
Absolutely love competitive analytical stuff so definitely do it again!
I was literally just explaining to my wife how awesome Wolfe's winning team was (and how hard to pilot) and i can't express enough how little she cared so this was great timing to feel seen LOL
Your commentary and insight have always been the best in the game, and it’s awesome to see you trying out these high production quality types of video. This one was a masterpiece. Excited for more!
The editing and scripting for this video is really top tier
loved this video. i know these take a lot of effort, so combining these occasionally with road to ranked would be some elite content
Really enjoyed this and would love to see more of this kind of thing! :)
I enjoyed the very very detailed explanations of the outcomes and possibilities. There was so much going on that match. It had started way before they sent their pokemon out with mind games.
To offer feedback, I enjoyed the editing in this. I watched it, and I felt that there was something different in the way it was produced and edited, and I got a giggle out of some of the various animated-stills of the players, such as Ashton really sweating it. Whether this is your own editing (and if it is, nice work! Editing is actually quite difficult) or the result of hiring a talented editor, I think this was done very well. I gave this a definite thumbs up. Thanks as always for providing insightful and entertaining coverage of competitive pokemon.
Best wishes to you, yours, and theirs, neighbor!
This is excellent! Starting off with an overview is great and your addition of the EVs and damage calcs and what each player is thinking makes this one of the best analysis I’ve seen of the match!
This is amazing content. I would love to see more of this!
Honestly, I’d consider myself a solid player, enough to understand the thought processes of both players and understand why turns and plays are so good, and for the most part I did before your analysis. However, you really did an amazing job and taught me some things I definitely wasn’t thinking about, like thinking about bringing Dondozo into Perish.
Never watched you before and i gotta say, this was awesome! Hope you keep uploading videos like this!
Loved the analysis; excellent job, Aaron! Would love to see more of these!
So technically, it's a 25% chance of getting those two high rolls in the entire match. Not getting it in the first set could have also influenced the output of the match.
SUCH a good analysis. It's so cool to see, very high quality content
Incredibly well done video by all involved. Looking forward to more.
I loved the style and flow of this video. You have such a wealth of knowledge and a way of analyzing it that makes it engaging and informative. I’d love to see you make more videos like this. Top tier!
one of my fav vids of yours so far! great stuff as always :))
one of my favourite videos of yours ever. this was really really well made and just really great to watch
Please make more of these videos. Fantastic!
i am not much into vgc, more a singles player but that match had me on the edge of my seat. great analysis as well, id certainly watch more of these types of videos
Video quality is amazing! looking forward to more content like this!
My one criticism is that you failed to mention that the primary reason for Wolfe protecting both of his Pokemon was actually to scout out what Gholdengo would choice lock itself into, given it was holding choice specs
I am interested to see you do more content like this, I am curious if you could breakdown your favorite Battle from worlds last year
I love how VGC is something much legendary than just pokemons fighting
It could be about our strategy, favorite Pokémon, train.
They both did a good job and Ashton trained a lot to beat Wolfe in game 2
I went back and watched the match before returning to this video so I could see if I could pinpoint the 50/50 Aaron mentioned, having that context now for the video has me so much more primed for this!
This was such a cool video format, nice job Aaron!
Really great video ,compared to bonus wolfe really indepth and complicated ( more of a what wolfe thought in the heat of the moment ) , this video is so much more digestable. Keep up the fantastic work aaron.
Side note : i was actually hoping for a cameo from bonus wolf
I love this format so much thank you for this !
Loving this style of analysis coming from you and Wolfe lately! Keep up the good work!!
This was fantastic, you led with a “spoiler” but not actually then analyzed everything in a way that even vcg noobs like me can follow. Giving those of us that havent seen the results a buildup. Very well done.
babe wake up new aaron “cybertron” zheng vid dropped
I could honestly listen to you talk forever, amazing analysis and insight once again.
This is such a cool format, would love to see more!
This was an excellent video! I hope to see more of this soon
I am not that familiar with official tournaments, but you made it really interesting to watch and easy to follow. It's crazy for me think that the EVs got so specifically distributed to counter such specific pokemon (HP / DEF investment in Gholdengo and the Speed investment in Iron Hands). These matches were amazing.
Thanks for the effort you put into the video!
Love vrrakdowns of competition, subbed
Aaron has the best background & experiences to do this kind of video.
Aaron making this video is a great service for the community.
I think videos like these can inspire ppl to get into vgc, Great vid Aaron!
Good vid Cybertron, always good to see a mind as tuned to Pokemon as yours break down a battle
This was a fantastic video. The input was so great, because while this was already such a fantastic match, I had no idea that it came down to a coin flip. That was very revealing which made me love this match even more
Really great video! I love this type of content from you, well done
This video does so much for someone that doesn't play the game but loves to watch vgc. Well done and thank you!
this looked great and was super fun to watch, good job everyone!
Would love to see more match analysis content!!
Yeah this was awesome to watch and breaking it down the way you did was really interesting.
A wonderful analysis! Thank you Aaron!
This is so well done!! Hoping for more of this kind of content
Love this type of content from Cybertron!
I’m only 1 minute in the video and I already know that this is a fantastic video and so much hard work went into this. Subscribed for sure, thank you Aaron!
This needs to be a pod cast
I KNEW Aaron must’ve been cooking something up!
Quality content dog, clean video
I quite enjoyed this. Though I still wish we had you talking to us from your camera in a corner vs a still from you. That's the only adjustment I'd make
This set was wild. It was a truly amazing show of two of the best Pokemon players in the world going head-to-head. Awesome video, I would definitely watch more of these :)
This was awesome and I loved every second. Keep it up !!
Great video! I would really enjoy more content like this.

No changes necessary, great content, well explained for those that might not understand EV spreads, and as usual great narrating! Keep it up Aaron!!!

Fantastic video!
Great Video, loved it
Amazing docu video
If the arcanine was max attack with an Adamant Nature it's a 100% ohko. Wolfes was Jolly though
Always love this kind of analysis, specially on such a close match
Love this, more of this.
I love this type of video
