in 2014 i was in a car accident and suffered a 2 part unstable Jefferson fracture this is the first video that explained this injury in a way i could fully understand. My doctors while amazing did not explain things well all i knew was i broke my neck severely and needed surgery ASAP. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!
Yes. I had to ask LOTS of questions to get any information out of the doctors. I was more or less left in the dark as to how to try to sleep in the damned brace and I found a video here on UA-cam that a woman posted that was a godsend to me, where she shows how to roll up towels and anchor them each side of your head. It keeps your head still but is also a comfort. I hate sleeping on my back but this at least enabled me to turn my body slightly but still keep my neck straight. I hope you're fully recovered now. Yes, you did beat the reaper. Makes you think, doesn't it?
Thank you very much for all this information. I recently fractured my C1 vertebra and, thankfully, it was a stable fracture. I am now in physio and recovering really well but wanted to understand the terms in my spine consultant's correspondence. I also found it very helpful to know which type of impact my head had to sustain the injury, and why my doctors made the choices they did when treating me. A bit scary to watch, however, even though I am healed now.
Thank you for such an educational video, I learned more here then from my neurosurgeon. I too had Jefferson fracture when I tree fell on me. Thank goodness I’m walking and talking.
I fractured my C1, C2, and cracked my C3 it almost killed me because it was a diving accident. It happened when I was 17 im 31 now and still dealing with pain every second of every day.
your videos are better than my lectures from medschool by far!!
Thank you. This is very helpful.
