This video will show how to rollback the Mavic 1.04.0100 firmware which included anti-rollback functions. This video will show how to download the latest DUMLDORE tool, DANKDOWNLOADER tool, download the firmware and defeat/rollback the firmware from 1.04.0100 to an earlier version.
This will NOT work with Mavic platinum or Artic white unless you install an internal SD card. More info found here: dji.retroroms.i...

Never mind my previous comment.....I tried it again using a different USB port and it worked. I am on 700 now. The sequence was the same as in your video, first pass gave me the 0100- (with the minus sign after the 0100) then I flashed again, this time saying no the the "defeat the firmware" and then it was just a matter of patience. Thanks a million to you Steve for all your amazing videos and all the OG's behind the programming.

YEEEEEEESSSSSSS - rolling back from 1.04.0100 to 1.03.0700!! THX so much! I was on 1.04.0100- and did the 2nd try - worked great! Today is a great day :) I did my test flight in an area I was not not able to fly in 0100. In this area DJI has a wrong NFZ and I got the permission to fly. THX again

Using this method and a little fiddling, I managed to fix my bricked controller and drone that died during the latest update that came with the release of the Mavic 2 Pro. I stupidly clicked "update" when I had a bad feeling about it, and it crashed halfway through, updating the drone fine but bricking the controller to the point it would no longer connect and gave an Error 200 in the app. DJI Assistant couldn't upgrade the firmware or downgrade it anymore and so it would not connect. Thankfully after downloading these and downloading the firmware manually, it all worked. Thanks!

I found that once the anti rollback lock is defeated you can use DJI Assistant to downgrade the firmware directly. The old firmware versions are still available on the DJI servers.
There are several things to take into account when using these instructions. Remember that you have to DL the fw for the rc and flash it too. Also, you need the latest version of DJI assistant to tell which fw is on your AC as the old version that allows for flight parameter changes will not show the fw version. The link for dumldore leads to a newer version which changes it's functionality so you can use this video as sort of a guideline. Thanks to the OP and HOLLA!!!!!

I still consider my self a Newish pilot so really have not expericened any problems only with my footage being Jello then after a week I noticed that the gimbal was not seated correctly!and sorted it myself.
but if I had other issues like with the software I'm not sure I would be able to sort that as easy with having to go in files etc etc looks a little scarey for me. LOL.

Update: after rolling back to 1.03.600 firmware both remote control and aircraft, even dough in DJI Assistant does not show as it saved the new modified values, in flight aircraft applies those new settings.

Quick question, I also have a P4 Standard, but I cannot figure if it’s possible to remove nfz lock or if it’s only for P4P models.

alright after much trial and error finally figured it out. U can't downgrade to 700 directly somehow on the older mavic made before 8/27/2017. You need to instead downgrade to 4.000 instead and then u downgrade to anything. It's weird but trust me it works. If u do 4.100 to 4.000 then the thing won't freeze on stage2.bin. It works. Also make sure to set the tcp ip before doing it.

hello, I need to know if this procedure works for the Mavic 2 Zoom? I need to do dowgrade but Dji put a lock on update 0300 and I need to downgrade to 0100, is it possible?
After I upload the file and hit flash it starts loading and says loading in progress then once it’s done it says flash complete but nothing about anti roll back pops up, help!!!

What an amazing DJI Assistant 2(and a half?) Question: On the Mavic Pro, did you guys ever fix the famous "gimbal ribbon cable failure" with a simple reset, fw rollback or reflash ??- funny that they want you to believe the ribbon got damaged during a firmware update and needs replacing ? The symptoms of this particular error is - after an update the gimbal seems to have changed or gotten corrupted parameters for the boot up calibration sequence. It acts up as any gimbal out of balance. After the usual careful looking side/backwards then forwards/sideways it start maxing out tilt both ways 2 times each(beyond it's physical limitations it almost seems) hitting parts of the drone sometimes, because of the violent speed of this movement, but most importantly(after you hold it upside down or whatever position to avoid this, it still hits it's own stoppers in each tilt direction. This makes it shut down the gimbal motors and just hang down, giving the error "gimbal motor overload, check if clamp is removed" or something silly like that. The answer from any "expert" would be replace the ribbon cable(they sell a lot of those lol), but being a tech I have a hard time believing this is the real culprit. Of course the process of replacing it would involve resets and perhaps even reloading of firmware, that could be the real fix. Do you have any thought on this ?
Any timescale for a release that allows roll back without fitting a SD card on the Platinum. I don’t want to open it up and void warranty. Assuming the mix match update to 4100 isn’t detectable enough to void warranty anyway 😜
none that I know of .. or if its possible. The OG's at slack may be working on it im not sure that would be the best place to find out though
When I open dji assistant It does not show what firmware I'm on and then when I try open dumldore it says I need to close assistant. I am using 1.2

Steve good work. I got the AC to downgrade but cant get the RC to. Keeps getting stuck at 26% and failing. Checked your other video on fixing FTP Access/timeout errors when using DUMLDORE but didn't help on the remote. Any advice?

I downgraded via assistant 2 v1.2.0(latest),from 1.04.0300 to 1.04.0100 succesfuly.
I tried to rollback my Mavic Pro to 1.03.0700 from my new current 1.04.0100 using Dumldore 2.14 (latest),following this procedure step by step.
Opened assistant 2,loaded my current firmware(1.04. 0100), open Dumldore, load 1.03.0700, closed assistant 2, pressed flash,pressed OK to the prompt but nothing happened and after 3-4 minutes of waiting a warning appeared that Dumldore didn't respond!This happened 3 times in a row and after that I stopped.
I think that maybe something went wrong downgrading from 1.04.0300 to 1.04.0100 via assistant 2 OR maybe 1.04.0100 is so locked as 1.04.0300 is...

Have you found a way to do this on the P4P? I get an "Unhandled exception..." error message using DUMLdore. Thanx for any help you can give. BTW, my P4P is actually on an older FW version. My objective is to UPGRADE to V01.03.0509. But the DJI Assistant 2 (v1.1.2) doesn't show ANY FW in the "Current" field. I saw you had a main.js file hack, but you moved too quickly through the tutorial and part of the screen was cut off, so I couldn't even step through it.

If you have the original Mavic Pro and when you downgrade to .700 FW and you get the errors Data logger Error and you have a solid red light? To fix you need to install an internal micro sd memory card. This means your Mavic is recent and DJI didn't want you to use the old FW which require a micro SD to use.

Cat Girl, if you use DankDroneDownloader-master that he has a link to, that will allow you to download a "custom rolled firmware" which has only the needed files in update without locking it down. I rolled back to 3.0700 today and then upgraded back to FW 4.0000 today using the "custom rolled" download. I will be upping to the 4.0100 custom Rolled that is downloaded from DankDroneDownloader. I will post back if I have any problems but it should go smooth.
This video might need an update because DUMLdore is updated and the prompts are different wording.

So the only reason why the latest firmware is bad is because you can’t go over 400ft? And you can’t bypass NFZ?
No. I talk to many pilots who update to the latest version and then their signal goes to crap - prior to update, could go 2-3 miles out no issues. After update, can go 500 feet then signal drops, no video and RTH kicks in. There are reasons other than the mods - DJI has serious quality issues in their releases. Now, that said, they do some good things in the latest firmware as well, like the panorama feature and the quickshots and gestures. For most of the people on my channel, yes they want those mods, but I prefer to help those who updated and it went to crap and they need help fixing it.
digdat0 is everyone who updated to the latest firmware limited to 500ft or just some people?
the latest firmware still allows 500m height (thats 1,640 feet) and that hasnt changed since they released the Mavic. The latest fw simply removes the parameter which allows bypassing that height limit within the assistant in debug mode.
?once you roll back will you get the update aircraft notifications on your remote control. And the eventually look the air craft.

Does say aircraft locked? If so, use dumldore to unlock it.
I follow all your steps, upgrade to 1.04.0100 and back to 1.03.700 exactly like your video say, now all work perfectly, then i unlock with dumbledore and now finaly skip register screen and enter to main menu .. but now i see in top left screen warning: CANNOT TAKE OFF :( I think dumbdlore skip register screen but if the aircraft never register before at last one time you cant fly. Now i have 2 mavics, my next steep its change lower core board with mavic that work ok and see if it work and if work i buy your lower core board.

Is this the internal SDcard problem?
I have a dji goggles, but after rolling back goggles' some functions are abnormal. It's connected with aircraft. If update back to 1.04.0000 or 1.04.0100, goggles' functions are normal. Rolling back was sucessful with no problem(v1.03.0700). I think when rollback, some functions are not worked. There is no problem with flying.

IMO, the only reason to be on 1.04.000+ is for new features like gestures, quickshots or pano. If you want those options, you need latest DJI Go app. If you dont need those, i like older DJI Go versions such as 4.0.6

yeah the same process will work, but the id's are different. if you goto my google sheets for the IOS versions, there is a tab on bottom for Vision+, where you can get all the different versions/ID's. The process is the same, except use one of those numbers instead.

this is a block dji is targetting on older versions of assistant. just flash it, it will work :)

I tried it and it seemed to work but then when I reconnected the DUMldore it said it was firmware 1.04.0100 so i attempted to reflash and it went through. Now it began to disconnect from the pc and the remote wont connect either.. help! it constantly disconnects and reconnects usb on pc

Honestly i never updated my rc and havent downgraded it, but process is the same. Ive talked to folks using new rc and older firmware and nothing is limited as far as i know. So with that, id usually leave the rc as is.
You'll get a message saying 'incompatible FW detected', if you do then yes, you'll have to update the batteries.
What were the problems with that update? I stopped updating 2 or 3 updates before that one

Hello every one just in the process right now and seam to be stuck at stage1.bin. I'm wondering if the use of USB2 port could slow down the process. digdat0 did you use an USB 3 or 2 for the video ?
Any clue how long stage1 last ?
stage1 can take a few mins,i dont think usb type makes a difference. The anti-rollback is using a race condition, which can take some time. be patient.
when i done the rollback my obistacle avoidance does not work is there a fix to this
Currently rolled back from 01.04.0100 to 01.03.0700 per the instructions in this video. Had many great flights with this setup. I just purchased and installed 8331 low noise props. I much prefer the sound of the new props but the Mavic does not seem to hover as rock solid with the low noise props. I'm getting a little bit of drift.
"IF" upgraded to 01.04.0100 using the custom rolled firmware option in DankDroneDownloader, (also known as cherry picking allowing you to upgrade firmware without updating the flight controller) would I actually receive the module that contains the update to support 8331 low noise props or would this be part of the flight control modules that do not get updated when using the custom rolled firmware?

Tried to roll back the 0100 on my friends Mavic but did not work. Used the latest DUMLdore as per instructions. Hangs continually after clicking ok to defeat the firmware. Able to change firmware at will for my Maviv and Remote which was not on 0100. Any ideas? Wasn't there another program that does the same?

Digdat0 can u not rollback rc of mavic when 100.4 200 is on it (newest fw) i try to rollback to 700 and it says it uploads fw in dumldore ... then I get an "upgrading " for a split second and then it just goes back to " connecting"
try going back an earlier version like 1.04.0100 or 1.03.1000 first, see what happens. did you do the anti rollback step?

ive not heard that reported before, you may want to update to .800 mixed module method, ive heard it has a camera update for 1080 @ 60fps

Can someone elaborate on the Dank Drone Download custom rolled firmware available in his app. It appears that this will give you the improvements of the newer firmware without the restrictions. However the very educated Digdat0 makes no mention of these and went straight to 01.03.0700,
Thos are if you wanna mix and match, that is keep mods from 700 and update to a later fw like 1.04.0000 which has gestures and quickshots. I have a separate vid on mix match. Ive run it, you also need newest go app which indidnt like, i didnt use the features and wen back to 700

there is a mod/hack to do that, but it doesnt work on the latest DJI Go. Id recommend getting android modded DJI Go which has FCC forced.

I tried upgrading, all seemed fine, Dumbldore reported that it had unlocked the firmware, it copied over and nothing, it just sat there, the assistant software showed no sign of upgrading, i ran the procedure again and nothing, no upgrade, yet the app clearly said the quad was upgrading, I refreshed the current firmware and had to reinstall the IOS app as it wouldnt connect. any ideas

FCC mode is something done in DJI Go, not on the firmware. If you are on android, get the modded android APK file. If on iOS, you can use the FCC config file (i have a diff video on that), but it only works in DJI Go 4.1.12 or earlier

I bought the mavic in december 2017..now I'm trying to rollback to firmware 700 or 900 and the update process finish fine..but when i try to fly the drone have a stable red light in the back and the app tell me there's a problem with the sd card and can't fly..why??? how can i solve this???

Just create a fake account and use that to sign in :) the only page the sign prvents is the firmware page, all other areas can be accessed without login

did you download the BIN or txt file? make sure its the 100mb bin file

Thanks Steve for the video. Was able to get down to 03.0700. Just wondering if the controller needs to also come down to that firmware as well to work?
i leave the controller at whatever version its on. I dont see any change/improvement when downgrading, so my belief is its not required time investment

usually thats if you dont have the winscp.exe file in the same folder, extract the whole contents of the zip file before running
