I pray the State returns Moku'ula to its original glory, remove that baseball field and try to build back the royal resting place and the pond. The state "desecrated a sacred site" and destroyed the burial sites of some of Hawaii's Royalty. I don't understand how these things happen in today's world, but I'm sure there's a legal remedy if fought in a court of law. Very disappointing/heartbreaking. Mahalo for this video.
Just read that the actual statue of Moku'ula has been in some museum in Germany for a century or so.
Yes, the idol of the mo'o goddess, Kihawahine, has been in the possession of the Ethnological Museum in Berlin since the late 1880s.
Give it back.

The fresh water spring from the old ponds is still there under the parking structure under 505 and lahaina shores constantly being pumped out into the ocean from flooding the parking structure.
My late friend and colleague P. Christiaan Klieger participated in the Bishop Museum archeological dig in 1993. In 1998 he published "Moku'ula: Maui's Sacred Island while he was at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. It is an authoritative history of the island and of the figures most associated with it, particularly Kamehameha III. As a staff member of the Bishop Museum Christiaan had access to all the documents within the museum's collection. His examination of the royal genealogies is exhaustive. The book has recently been reprinted by the Bishop Museum Press in response to the renewed interest and is available directly from their website. The details of the dig and maps indicate that Lahaina was surrounded by loko and water. All the modern streets clearly follow the map borders of the pond and the island as can be seen from Google Maps.
I mention Christiaan because he is never mentioned for his work and this book in particular. Others are quick to claim to be experts on the subject, and perhaps they are, but credit should be given where it is due.
I attended ceremony there maybe a decade or more ago with Leiohu Ryder and Auntie Mahi Poipo'e. There was a lot of oli and ceremony in Olelo Hawaii. About 30 people in attendance, mostly kanaka maoli. It was very moving.

I enjoyed this history lesson of Moku'ula. I had heard of it before and how it had been buried and eventually turned into a ballpark, but never knew the details. I was disappointed that the audio was distorted, making it hard to hear and understand your accounting of the history. Is there a way that we your followers could help you to upgrade your equipment to remedy this technical issue? I love your content and would be delighted to help you to improve the quality of your videos in this way. (I think this is the only thing that is lacking in your content.)

Aloha, I have an idea the FBI and FEMA have gps and cctv data. People can do this too! Where the missing children could be found is by the school busses that took kids home on the day of the fire, as all kids where ordered to take busses home, which buses? They did not go home independly. Who ordered this? Who drove those buses? Can anyone in Lahaina account them, please to find the missing, Bus and phone last contact, phone of missing will be found where their phones turn off, Find my phone, Bus GPS etc, all GPS! If you know their phone number, find their last location. Also, who orered kids to leave school by busses? Where did they go! Please share or tell savy techy hackers to find numbers gps locations and routes till turned off, ordered school pick routes, public transport gps, steet cams, private car gps, Police gps locations routes, Fire trucks. Many also walked home. I'm curious if you are a Maui resident or off island. The stories & conjecture floating around are getting weirder by the day.
I thought it was said they never went to school that day. Which is strange, did they take the buses so they wouldn’t have to participate in helping to bus people out or around after the fires? Did they hide the buses? Did they take the buses so they didn’t have to participate in distributing supplies? Did they traffic children?
The buses were seen leaving before the fire or before the fire reached the area where they were parked.
Also the area where they were parked wasn’t even burnt, yet everything around that lot was rubble.
Who was driving those buses and where are they located now?
They mayor and everyone involved really messed with the time line as far as cutting all reception small fires randomly spread out.

@@corirodriquez2889 kids went to school & were let out early due to the 1st fire. Honestly... the mystery solving game via suspicious conjecture (trafficking, etc..) is not based in much reality. All your questions have very simple answers.
Key is to not be attached to one conclusion lest you be drawn into cognitive dissonance & confirmation bias. I feel what is WAY more important than raising suspicion is raising donations for locals. The theories are a distraction imo. Please donate & inspire others to do so. It all helps.
