Literally out of no where tonight, I started singing. "It's a fun place, it's a family place" and I Googled to find this commercial. So happy this was posted!

I've been looking for this commercial for year's too! I lived in Queens NY my friends and I would joke about this commercial and how full of shyt the whole affair sounded!
For some odd reason we beloved it was run by a Tony Soprano type long before there was even a show called: “ the Sopranos”!

@@moonrakertv5 That's ironic, because one of the two owners of the park in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s was named...yep, you guessed it, Tony. Was a good guy. He passed away 2 years ago

I worked on the boardwalk in 1975, with Mario, the Johnson brothers, Bridget ( who worked inside by the ORIGINAL BIG CAROUSEL that we use to run), and Donna (who became my girlfriend). We ran the carousel, bumper cars, the spook house (both still there!), the Himalayan and the mini Himalayan at the beginning of the boardwalk by the parking lot. I would go across the street to the liquor store across the street, and buy a six pack of Miller (I was SIXTEEN at the time!), and a pack of Marlboro for 50 cents. We would get drunk while running the carousel (Ah, the good old day!) Back then, STREAKING was the big thing! We streaked up and down Beachway, the road that runs parallel to the beach and ended at Pine view Ave., where we had a bungalow. Keansburg is totally different now than it was in the 1960's and 1970's! We lived down the block from the BERKSHIRE HOTEL and bar. Who remembers this?

My family lived in East Keansburg from 1973-87 and I was born there by Dec 1982. I still have memories of going there as a little kid in the mid 80s. The last time I was there was with my late father in 1990.

I remember this commercial and jingle. Part of my childhood. I was 6 when this commercial was on tv. My mom and dad would take my twin brother and me to Keansburg amusement park every summer. We used to call it Porky Pig amusement park. Lol. Still go there every summer even now...it's become a family tradition. :)

Maybe that's why it smells like mustard, chlorine, beer, and pork. Gross.

One nitpick, Keansburg is actually about an hour and a half drive from NYC. 30 minutes is actually the time it takes to travel from NYC to the Turnpike exit that takes you to the Parkway near Woodbridge.

I remember that commercial! I've been going there for 65 years! Who remembers the Yellow stand, Jerry Sheen's (where, at 4 years old, my cousins and I snuck in to see the original Four Seasons), and the stands went all the way to the parking lot? Does anyone know where I can find pictures of the old Keansburg boardwalk, including those old stands close to the parking lot?

It's so great getting to see this again! For almost 50 years I thought it was "It's a fun place it's a HAPPY place". And imagine someone thinking that this guy was suitable for the voice over🤣

my parents used to take us here after spending a day at the beach at Seabright in the mid '70s. My parents were from Europe and had no problem with me drinking my pop's beer as we walked around the boardwalk. We used to get the nastiest looks. LOL

Brilliant! Here are the lyrics that I was able to make out.
Come out to Keansburg Amusement Park.
Meet the different kind of people at the pool. (?)
Win the games, try the rides, and stay cool.
    It’s a fun place. It’s a family place.
Come out to Keansburg Amusement Park.
(Spoken): Keansburg Amusement Park is located on the Jersey Shore, on Garden State Parkway exit 117.
Come out to Keansburg Amusement Park.
(Spoken): Only 30 minutes from New York. Come on out!
    Notes:
    “Park” is pronounced “paurqk.”
“Jersey Shore” is pronounced “Joisey Shoar”.
“New York” is pronounced “Noo Yawk.”

Visited summer of '78. Same creepy dude with the pig mascot head was roaming around the carousel. Wore heavy black combat boots which was strange as hell.
