- Where have I been!? I'll tell you! I'll also share an interesting EQ trick I picked up while I was laid out for the last 6 months, and tease a couple of upcoming high-priority videos. Great to be back, folks. Thanks for stickin' around.
Dude, the only thing you owe us is to take care of yourself. Sorry to hear about your ordeal, and I am glad you are doing better!
This. Well said fella. Lovely to have you back UBK. All the very best.
Glad this is the top comment. I heard Greg say that and I had the same sentiment you expressed.
Facts. We are all glad to have him back
💯
❤️💪👍
Came here just to let you know: You are missed. ❤ I hope you get well soon to let us benefit from your audio wisdom. Even if there's something not related to audio it is always a pleasure to listen to you.
AGREE!
Gregory I’m just checking in with you to tell you that we miss you and hope your doing ok. Take care of yourself which I’m sure you are doing. Thanks for all you do for us audio nerds and determined music creators. Cheers.
you dont owe us a thing Gregory. Your videos are fantastic and incredibly unique in the scope of writing/mixing/mastering audio. Please look after yourself and the world will be here waiting for you, because the quality of your information is well worth waiting for.
so glad you are ok dude , we missed you , hope you are 100% soon as poss, you don't owe us anything, health comes first
Hope you continue to recover, spinal injuries are absolutely brutal. This channel’s probably my favorite on UA-cam, and I’m beyond excited to hear your new thoughts on complementary frequencies. Take all the time you need!
Man, you have no idea what an inspiration you have been to me, recovering from my own spinal injury. In April of 2020, I got hit by a truck on my motorcycle. As I recovered, watching every one of your videos, as well as many other UA-cam audio and musician focused channels really kept me going. I, unfortunately, am stuck in a wheelchair, but it doesn’t keep me from making music. Making better sounding music, thanks to you. Hope you have a full recovery. And thanks for the update, I’ve missed the Kush.
Love you bro ☝️ audio is a guild lol
Great attitude, brother. Inspiration is infectious, thanks for sharing. Make that music.
this may sound strange coming from and absolute stranger, but I love you, Greg. so many of us love you and appreciate what you so unselfishly give our audio community. from your sharing and nurturing spirit to your gear to your methods and your overall philosophy about sound and music. you are loved and missed and my only hope is that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. you're an absolute gem of a human (from what you share with us here) and one helluva musician and engineer. take your time and we weill wait. peace and continued blessings, good sir!
Great to see you. Sending good energy!
Wow! Did not realize what you had gone through with your spinal injury. Losing the feeling in your leg? Man, that must of been so scary. I’m so glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. I’ll be praying that you’ll be back to normal as soon as possible. Thank you for giving us the update. Thank you for your dedication to teaching us the art of mixing. You are a giving individual, and it is so appreciated by all of us 🤛🙏
You don’t owe us anything. What is archived on this channel alone is a lifetime of value. Glad you’re recovering and truly looking forward to the future. As someone who likewise suffers from spine issues, a standing desk has changed my life. Cheers
Big love mate. I have spine issues. Music has certainly got me through. Wishing you a smooth recovery.
Dear Greg, i didn't knew what happened to you and i'm both sorry for how it went, but truly glad to know you are back in motion. You can't imagine how much your content shaped my skills, and your music soothes my soul. May life bless you after all of this. A big virtual hug!
And when the world needed him most he returned. Awesome to see you're okay man.
Instead of repeating platitudes I’ll give you a compliment. Your videos are awesome conversation starters between me and my recording friends. They spice up the creativity. They inspire me to avoid the ideology of turning the mix experience into a sequence of operations. I appreciate you.
Looking forward to your Gandalf the White era, as you return from adversity more wise and powerful than before
“Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.” Please sustain yourself with a lot of self care and let those who are closest to you, help you. I appreciate you more than you may know. Your videos feel like a friend sitting down with me and talking about music problems. Which has ended up honestly helping me with personal problems too. Thank you for all you’ve done for the community as well as me personally! I look forward to what comes next!
It is good to have you back, Gregory! I wish you strong health which is the real wealth.
COME BACCCCCCK GREGORY SCOTT. YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON I LEARN FROM! AND YES, ALL CAPS BECAUSE IM SCREAMING TO THE HEAVENS! XOXO
Wow Gregory, So glad to hear your dulcet toned voice again! Glad you're up and about and excitedly anticipating your new insights. Cheers my man!
We love you Gregory! Get better man and we’ll be right here with you.
Great to see that you are doing well Gregory ✌️
Thank you for everything Gregory, and looking forward to your return! You're the best!! Wishing you a full and speedy recovery! 🎶
Glad that you're recovering well. Someone once told me that pain, excruciating pain, is clarifying. No one needs that much clarity! Spinal injuries-especially high- and low-point injuries-bring out the crybaby in the strongest. I never want to endure that kind of pain again.
Health is more important than anything. I for one am just glad you are back. Your info and take on all things music are a gem. #protectUBKatallcost
Just went through a spinal discectomy. Extreme sciatica. I'm 4 weeks post surgery. I know exactly what you are talking about. The pain is like no other. It's Hell on Earth. Glad to see you back.
Greg I'm so glad you are able to come back and you are healthy!! As someone who has had 4 back surgeries after an accident in my mid 20s I really sympathize with what you have went through! But let me suggest you need to come down here to the south so we can feed you like a good ol' boy with that good southern food and get you back into mixing shape, or maybe we can send you some really good recipes!! Cheers my friend!
Great to hear your voice again, Health is important ! 🎉
Only now hearing about your injury. Glad you seem to have come out OK!
KUSH is probably my favorite production related channel. You are different and very inspiring. Looking forward to your new videos. Thanks a lot and keep getting well.
Dude I'm so sorry to hear this, I can't believe you've been through this, glad you're on the mend 🙏
Welcome back. The world of music needs you in it.
“Thanks for your patience”? Gregory we are the ones who should be saying thank you. Hope you’re feeling better and that you’re on the mend.
Anyone can and have made videos to list off what plugins populate their master channel and give shallow tutorials on twisting knobs, but the wisdom you share of ‘why’ adds so much value.
Long time follower of your channel and have learned heaps along the way.
Keep doing the awesome things you do.
You've been on my mind as I've been seeing HoK seasonal promos, Gregory. So sorry to hear about your health challenges, but I'm happy to see you're on the mend. Announcing a channel reboot is like an early holiday gift. Can't wait for more of your unique perspective on all things mixing. I came to recording and mixing through my path as a songwriter artist and I think your creative, philosophical take on mixing is an inspiring fit for folks like us. Happy Holidays to you and yours, G 🙏🌲
Gregory, so very glad that you are on the other side of whatever hellish experience that must have been. Really happy to see you back in fighting shape, as you are a one-of-a-kind gem.
Survivors can arise a lot better, stronger and usually wiser than before. Believe me. You got a new chance to be grateful to life. Welcome back! Cheers from Brazil.
Take Care! It's us who owe you a big thanks for giving your professional wisdom to all of us! Thank you, a million times over!!!!
You have my love & support. You’ve helped all of us in such a great way! We are here for you.
Sorry you've had such a rough time, but I'm really impressed how you kept going and how you keep learning. That's inspirational!
I've been going through spinal pain for half my life. I'm with you brother
It's important to take care of your health. If you don't...who will!
i haven't paid for a single perpetual license for music in the past 22 years. I would pay for SLD Dream by Dream in a heartbeat. Thanks for reminding me what it feels like to enjoy music again.
Dude, had no idea you were injured, but can say you were badly missed! I kept checking back on your channel to see if I'd missed the complementary frequencies video. And I never do that with any other channels, so that gives you some idea how psyched I am to have you back and to know you're on the mend. Can't wait for that video.
If you need inspiration for more content later, a video on frequency allocation would be awesome.
So sorry to hear!!! But prayer going up and glad to see you bro.
Miss your insights and calming vibes Greg, hope your recovery is going well!
My mum missed two verterbraiths. I have seen my mum suffer her whole (short) life. I wish you all the best. I am overjoyed to hear you are making progress. Because of the progress you are making I am quite confident you will regain all functions again. But once you have experienced this pain. I am quite sure it will come back from time to time.
My prayers are with you.
Thanks for getting me through various lockdowns. You're amazing and funny and instructive and such a treat to listen to. I hope all the love you're feeling from everyone here helps you heal.
Oh, damn brother, I had no idea you were going through that. I've been there many times with the back, nerves and slipped discs. It truly is depressing. Seems like you're on the mends, so that's a step in the right direction. Take your time man and enjoy your holidays. We''ll be here when you're good to go.
No apologies necessary. We're just glad you're back and recovering Greg. Looking forward to continuing our audio journey together. God bless you sir!
Take care, Gregory! This world needs you!
Like many, I'm just glad you're recovering! I've been out of the loop on things so I had no idea you were even injured. Continued recovery and I cannot wait for your new content. Thanks!
Man there is no pain like a back injury!!!! I truly hope you get well soon and yoga/stretching helps A LOT!!!!
God Bless you, Greg, I'll keep you in prayer. Thank you for all that you have given us. 🙏
Wow! the Kush family crankin up the love and good vibes for our brother Gregory ! hope it helps heal the pain brother!
Missed you man. I had no idea you were going through it. Glad you're ok
I’m sorry to hear about your injury but I’m very glad to see you again. I’m sure you already know this, but take care of yourself and don’t stress about making UA-cam content. Health comes first! Cheers 👋🏻
Glad to hear from U Gregory,U are a blessing to the audio mixing community, wishing u blessings on blessings🙏
This news has made my day. So happy you are going to be back sharing your gifts. Love and light.
You're the man.....praying for full recovery brother! I appreciate all that you do for us but you take all the time you need to focus on you!!🙏
I would be really happy to see a new video from you and an update on how you are doing :D
Great to see you back, looking forward to the new videos
Hey man! I miss you! This is my favorite audio advice channel. Hope you’re doing ok and look forward to more videos!
Hope to see you back here soon Greg! I've already binged your podcast with Nathan and I've watched all of your videos here. Your philosophical approach to music and mixing is extremely valuable to me, and to many others here too evidently.
Myyyy G you absolute trooper! Look after yourself. Nonetheless hyped you're back!!
Really miss your goodies & miss seeing you around Dearest Scotty.... Wish you a very quick recovery & best of health .... We all Love you man... :) God Bless......
You don't owe us a thing! I thank the lord that you are alive and well 🙏 I will continue to keep you in prayer.
Welcome back, brother. I went through cancer surgery and chemo with 2 exploded discs all during covid and now am moving in to a hip replacement. Yay, genetics. Anyhow, take your time, enjoy being back, and take in all the love coming your way!
Glad to hear you're okay & on the mend! 😎👍
...And OMG, I'm so excited! Can't wait!!! Take care of yourself & thank you for filling us in 🤩😆😁🎉✨️
Don't thank us - we thank you!! Very happy to hear you're on the mend. Had been concerned!
Gregory, blessings on you brother! Thanks for the update :)
(sigh) I've found that we all have the potential to "come back"
even stronger than before a mishap... power to you! sf
Number 1 priority is always, always health. We can wait for your videos and wisdom, no need to rush.
Also, to say that your mixes were missing something between 2K and 4K is, well, sooo you. Your mixes are amazing, as are your plugins. Gregory, stop trying to find a hole where there is none. You are, after all, second to none.
Warmest cheers from Chicago and wishing you all the best!
Inspirational contributions to the world of music already GS, keep your health as first priority tho. We're not going anywhere. One love.
You don’t owe us anything. Glad you’re well, and glad you’re back.👍🏻
Continue to heal at exactly the correct speed. Looking forward to your new videos. Pax ❤🙏
Legend!👍😁 I look forward to the new videos🥳 Rock on, Gregory😎
Had no idea...I'm damn thankful to see you back and healing. G-d bless, Gregory!!
Relieved to hear that you're on the mend. I was completely ignorant of your injury, I just noticed a certain missing attention to detail in my study of music engineering...
Sorry this happened to you. The same thing happened to my daughter this year when we were coming back from a video shoot through the Angeles crest forest. She's the guitarist of The Mouth-Breathers. it happened on the same day Taylor Lautner passed. The head on collision broke her spine and cause internal bleeding that almost took her life. She now has lots of titanium in her but is hard core and a fighter. She is back in the studio and has already played a few gigs. These videos have really helped me improve my recordings. I wish you the best and look forward to your next lessons. Get very well soon.
Had no idea you were dealing with that. Love your channel and love Kush Audio plugins (can’t believe I don’t hear them talked about more)
Hope your healing and back to 100% soon!
Just saw your video .. I had no idea this happened.... welcome to the club ...I was run over by a Ford Expedition and had to go through what you've suffered.
Glad to see you're back if you need anything hit me up
I, like so many thousands of other Kush/UBK fans, missed your insightful words and sense of humor. I'm so glad you are on the mend. Take your time if you need it. We'll all wait for you.🙏
So glad to see you pop up in the feed again, Gregory. Always a joy! I learn so much from your videos and am anxiously awaiting the next set.
YES!!!! He's "back", baby!!!!
Dude, no need to apologise. Just glad that you got through it and that you've become stronger in your passions and teachings.
In 2016 I built a ARP 2600 kit (TTSH) and spent so much time sitting in a bad chair I ended up with a herniated disc, completely threw me for a loop, took many months before I could leave the house, and 3-4 years before the pain finally subsided to zero. My advice, Do all the physical therapy you can! Do lots of yoga, stretch your back! Talk to a massage therapist, the doctors diagnosed me, but the only thing that stopped the sciatic pain in my right leg was an experienced LMMT he saved my life. I felt like there was an ice pick jabbed into my right butt cheek constant pain for 3 solid weeks before I found the massage therapist and I went from laying on my side all day to walking out of the massage place on my feet to get back in the car.
Thank the Lord you're ok 👍🙏
Awesome awesome awesome!!! Hope the most high heal you and keep his blessings upon you and your family.

Gratitude & Appreciation
Man, I'm so glad you are well and back again! For me there are only two guys whose messages keep sticking in my head. You and Dan Worrall.
So happy to see you again Gregory Wan Kenobi. Looking forward to new videos and hope your back recover
I don't know you, but I see you. Great work and humble attitude is such a rare combination, you have both is spades. You share your process. No wonder so many people are reaching out. God speed
I hope you are recovering well, back injuries are awful. The incapacitating pain is indescribable, until it happens to you. Healing vibes….
I use my MacBook speakers all the time as a mixing ‘tool’, if you want to call it that. I discovered it the same way. I played a mix I was doing once on the internal speakers, and suddenly all the clattery horror was there to hear, being pushed into your face by those bass-free little nightmares. Dealing with the offending highs on the laptop speakers, and then switching back to my monitors was very revealing, and a nice little reward when you do. I do this a lot nowadays, as part of my mixing regime.
