    When Rob talked about how we can get our creativity back at any age i thought of the Dylan lyrics "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now"

    Social intelligence is about reading people to discern who truly wants to invest in you and those who just want to use you - so true the more you swing away from the lowest common denominator. You have to pay attention. Excellent interview Navid!

    I have watched Robert Greene in many interviews but this is one of the best. Very insightful, positive and genuine interview and help me understand deeper and closer.
    You let Robert talk openly and personally but not all about your opinions like some other interviewer. Much love and respect !!!

    What a great interview! Very intriguing and great content; lots to learn, definitely. We people, subconsciously, assumed once we mastered one thing, particularly. we felt we've known better than others, yet we only have known a portion of it. Thanks for this video, will definitely come back sporadically.

    Amazing interview sir, there is a lot of info to digest, he was very nice and calmed, I really enjoyed it. The first time I heard about Robert was when a teacher in the university told us to read The 48 laws of power. He made the suggestion in a very special mysterious way. I think now that he might have been putting his job at risk, in my country people in charge of certain institutions tend to be kind of conservative. Thanks for this material Navid.

    I really really believe in that ideia from the law 4th in the 33 Strategies of War: Burn the Ships. When you decide what you really wanna do, your ideas, your projects. Put yourself in a position that you`ll need to use all of your criativity and focus to reach your goal. But becareful, you need to decide what you want before to Burn the Ships.

    Thank you Mr. Navid and Mr. Robert... Navid I have been gently following you for a few years now. And just this evening have really connected with this pod cast with Mr. Robert Greene. I thank you very much! It is never too late or nothing inlife is bad timing. Somethings are meant for future times and others are meant for the immediate path-building. I am in love with the idea that through technology we as a "single species" are able to take the reins in hand and learn by connecting through this platform. Again I thank you ever so much for "NOT GIVING UP" Eric A. Spencer

    I wish Greene would write a book on limitations as the essence of life, creativity and mastery, with real stories of people who were able to achieve greatness using their limitations as stepping stones.

    I really enjoyed Mastery, got inspired by Robert Greens's work in a way and at the same time I am feeling I didn't find my calling in life tho and that I didn't learn from all the experience I had in terms of being still naive.

      Navid Moazzez Love the talk about the brain being a naturally creative instrument - wanting to connect things. Always associating things. If you can learn to be loose, you'll get creative. It takes time. Really important point. Loosen the mind!

    • @unchainedwarriortv
      @unchainedwarriortv 10 років тому +1

      Navid Moazzez Thank again. Biggest takeaway is Robert's take on how to find one's life's calling and how to achieve it especially the example of becoming a coach, or sports lawyer even if you can't play the game :) Before this, I was actually limiting my thinking to being active in the real thing and never thought of getting involved in supporting roles. And the fact that mastery has nothing to do with genetics.... but can be achieved... Nice meeting you too. I blog at www.inspiringaddo.com. Tips will be much appreciated :)

    When you talked about learning a language, another thing to speed up the process, other than immersing yourself in the culture would be to guage your motivation for learning that language (or skill, etc). if you have a good enough reason to learn French, even if you don't live in France or somewhere that French is spoken, you will be better able to pay attention and master that skill.

    One of my teachers often repeated that "95% of talent and 5% of work will bring you nothing, but 95% of work and 5% of talent is a granted success". According to this formula more talented people will achieve more (because they will be able to do more), but still the biggest task is to find the domain where you are talented at and only the start to invest your time (collect those 10k of hours of practice). You can't neglect the fact that people are born different and NOT equal. Some are better at math things, others are better at sport. But the natural talent usually stays untouched due to external factors - maybe parents will push you to study arts when you are a genius in driving a car and something like that. Sure you can train your brain into being creative, but if it's not in your genes, you still will be just a mediocre wanabe. So genetics are essential here.

    Common Robert, you are human, you do think about how many books you are going to sell.... then you say you dont write books that are a formula, yes you do, all of your books are based on or represent a formula.
    I really like you stuff and you come across as a great guy, but let's deal in the facts of the situation.

  • @peternichols2052
    @peternichols2052 7 років тому

    Wait a second. One minute it's "you don't have to be 'born' great and then it's "maybe you have no rhythm". Greene contradicts himself after a great question by the interviewer. So, spending 10,000 hours doesn't make you a master if you ain't got no rhythm'

    • @ColorDeluge
      @ColorDeluge 5 років тому

      It's more like "the only people who achieve mastery are the ones who thrive on limitation because of their sheer emotional connection to something that makes them find ways Around the limitations and hence become unusual"
