I believe the 75/32 m 37 (in large numbers) would have made the greatest impact in North Africa. Easy to move and easy to camouflage...

there was a second version called the " Cannon Da 75/34 I.F. " which had a muzzle brake and folding shield.

Thanks so much for this " tribute " to Our heros that without willing to do It , under a dictator order had to fight for the Honor of Our Country against the entire world . If today You count in the map where the Italians fought and vs Who and against how many , You can understand that They were terribly good to resist 3 years . Considering that the equipment was missing and when available sunk in the Mediterrean by the Allied subs or RAF . Back to your point , the best to me It was Our 90 , as You saw , It was the same used by Our fleet and really Better than the German Flak 88 . We Simply were unprepared for such a huge war , specially After the Spanish and Ethiopian campaigns that absorbed lots of resources and brought Us to break with UK and the rest of the World being damaged by sanctions and lacks of row materials trade .

The 90/53 on Lancia 3Ro is certainly a favorite. There is now finally a 1:35 scale model available from IBG. The little Fiat-SPA TL37 Libya 75/27 would be my 2nd favorite...

amazing video its crazy to think italy had so much potential to win ww2 since it developed amazing weapons like the Berettas m38 and m1, the super reliable and well built carcano rifles, and semovente 75 which was the italian stug basically.... just that mussolinis incompetence got in the way

The Ansaldo 149/40 mod.1935 would have been a good addition to your video.
The Italian Army was aware that their artillery was in dire straits at the beginning of the 30s, but they never got enough money for their artillery renewal programs.
The intervention in the Spanish Civil War and then the aggression against Ethiopia, and finally the Pariani reform, which increased the number od field divisions beyond logic, put an end to any significant artillery program.

The Breda machine gun used a tray system instead of belt. Trays didn't hold many rounds and jammed a lot

The artillery truck was meant to be used against the Austrians as it had 4 wheel steering to tackle mountain roads.

that ansaldo obice 210mm would have been italy's answer to the soviet 203mm howitzer b4

  • @Kenshiroit

To be fair the 210/22 was a siege gun, to hit stationary targets like bunkers. It would not had been a good choice as a regular field gun.

I do not think this is accurate. The 210/22 was assigned (or meant to be assigned) to the Army-level artillery groups. These groups were subordinate to Army commands (opposed to corps- or divisional artillery) and their purpose was to counter-battery enemy artillery.

The italian industry system was as dysfunctional as the italian forces.
While the major participants of ww2, USA, Germany, the British Empire, Soviet Union, increased their weapons production x-fold Italy did not keep up.

And this is why Italy should have never been involved in WWII. Despite what Mussolini might have "dreamt", if the Army High Command had no interest in equipping themselves with effective modern weapons, then war should have never been on the table so to speak. In fact it shouldn't have been in the same house as the table!

i wish the italians had a 105/45 gun truck , but the newer 105mm guns were too large foe any truck of that time.

So the wheeled vehicle with the 90 mm gun could really have been aligned, I think that would have been able to cope with everything the Allies had, that in sufficient numbers of course.

Absolutely wrong my friend... you are misinformed, Italian artillery was effective... there are several documents that attest to statements (especially English) that the Italian artillerymen were very well trained and their work (despite being worse equipped) was very effective and put them in difficulty several times in the African campaign...
