'As a retired maintenance super I'm listening to a whole bunch of unnecessary radio chatter, especially from Yankee Maintenance. The pilot of the IFE jet has enough on his plate flying the aircraft. Near the end of this is the way it should be. His wingmen are ensuring he is doing all the right things and not forgetting anything. Everyone else is just mucking up the radio.
@@patrickmcbrien9303 Landing gear maximum speed is 300knots and for flaps is 370knots,think about air refueling with the flaps down. So it is higher than you believe it.
@@patrickmcbrien9303 For flaps no (will blow up by them self) no button to use for rise position ,only landing gear lever rise them both flaps and landing gear .BUT gear speed is less and if you forget the landing gear door will detach from the aircraft from the hinges
Eng out, No Hyds, Had to blow gear down. Tail hook down. For some reason missed most of the cables by going all the way to the other end of the runway. Great job though!
Military airfields like this one will usually have two cables on a runway. One at each end. The pilot knows this and is really hoping he snags it. If you miss it and have too much speed you have to quickly decide... ride it out or eject.
i guess he use aim9 mode for catch thermal signatures around glide slope, or there was system error and no way to set landing mode, or in that situation he just gives a zero shit about hud modes, if in this mode he got everything he need. alt, speed, flight path mark

What a landing - one hell of a pilot!!

dang that was impressive, glad he made it back safe
Thought ATC was Borat for a min (very nice)
Awesome crew (flight) management.
Impressive CRM by the entire flight.
Update :- they later found the lost engine.
230 mph approach with gear down. Good pilot.
I believe that this is Knots calibrated airspeed
Yeah, 230kts are like 264 mph. He needs to be below 250kts ais to put put everything down. (SB on F-16 are on the wings)

Phenomenal job. Where did you get the video?
Hannah's dad here, I was a crew chief, we were pretty tight with the pilots. I asked for a copy the next day.

Sometimes there are even cables in the overrun.
Overrun cable!
Where is landing symbology?
In his head mostly. His HUD was in Air to Air mode the whole time. I would suppose he had more pressing issues.

Superjob!
Brilliant considering how aerodynamically unstable the f16 was
Cuz of high speed
The flight control system still works, it’s just being powered by battery.

"The" engine not "an" engine
But of a strange upload considering the girls channel. Interesting nonetheless
who shot this?
The pilot is Capt. "Glide" Collins. 526th Black Knights. This was on a TDY to the ACMI range at Deci in the late 80s. Good times.
